Came down to the game on my own today. Setting off at 0930 after battling through roadworks and speed restrictions I finally got onto Stanley Matthews Way around 1410.
I usually go corporate in the 1863 so get a parking space by the ground but today was a nightmare.
Went down the road where the main car parking is but that’s permit only so went to the car parks down the same strip but both were full and ended up parking down Gordon Banks Way for 6 pounds in the end but there weren’t many spaces left.
Is parking always that difficult around the ground.
Can you get permits when you order tickets?

We always park in Screwfix or PaH...so had a panic before finding somewhere!! Does anyone know why? We’ve used Screwfix for year and years. Just as a precaution, I called the number I have for them on Friday, I think it’s the place where the wagons arrive at / depart from. The chap there told me that they would be running the parking, and someone would be manning the gates the following day, and all season. We arrive spot on 1.30pm, 2 in hi viz waving us away…..😱😡. I spoke to them to ask what was going on, to be told that it ‘had been stopped last week’….. I’m going to call again in the week, just to be absolutely certain that it wasn’t a one off or a temporary measure. The funds they raise on the gate at Screwfix have helped run their social club, plus they make donations to local charities.

Probably short of staff due to holiday season. They must make a mint from it though so don't think it will be a problem long term.

I’ve popped in to Screwfix today to try to clarify if it’s a permanent closure or a temporary issue. Something has happened which has made them question opening the car parking on match days. One ray of hope is that they are looking at how to solve the problem, and may have something in place ‘soon’. I’ve left my contact details with them and will share any updates I get.

I've bought a season parking pass at Power League this season - I arrived just before 2 on Saturday, so was early, there were loads of spaces around the back on the actual car park, but the access road and grass verges were rammed. I saw the guy on the gate turning people away without passes saying they were full (an hour before kick off), so I can only assume there is no longer a pay-on-the-day option there, you need a season pass...

It’s crazy that no one can buy a per match car park ticket for the south car park. It’s now all season permits as last season. I’d estimate that it’s only two thirds full at best. Forcing people to park much further away for no reason.

I asked if there was capacity on the South car park (there is), can you buy a ticket per match (you can, £10 if you collect, £12.50 by post), and how much is a full season pass (£125). I didn’t ask, but I’d imagine you can only get single match parking tickets not on a match day - I think there’s a cut off time when the ticket office will only deal with that days tickets, so worth checking if that’s an option for you. What I need to see is if they still hold cars back while foot traffic clears, or if you can get straight off.

You used to be able to pick one up from your local newsagent or give the guy a fiver at the gate, now you have to make a trip to the ground beforehand and pay a rip off tenner??

And you then have to leave the match ten minutes early to stand any chance of getting off the car park in under an hour? The last time I parked on there it was a fiver.

Autoneum across the road from Audi is also 10. If they aren't donating it to charity they can stuff it aswell.

Feel free to give them a call because I’ll be happier knowing it’s not just me banging on - normal hours is best. It’s the main number 01782 647550. We’ve been parking there more than 10 years, and it’s just part of our match day now. The stride back can be very helpful, depending on result / performance, etc!

I'm a consultant for PaH and have asked around, they have moved to a different distribution centre in Stafford. They still park lorries there and have one or two people on site but not many any more, and then it'll be none when the lease runs out next year.
It was operated by the landlord at the site and they don't know if they'll open it up again this season, but I remember similar problems on the first game last season.

Is the car park open tomorrow for football ... "Sorry, it's not" Is that long term or short term or not sure ... "Not sure sorry" Thanks, goodbye

Anyone know why?

Screwfix closed so we carried on up the hill a little to park on Glenn Dimplex just before the rugby club (?) Cost us a fiver which is fine but then took ages to get off. It was 5.55pm when we finally got onto Stan Matthews Way! There's go to be a better way!

We parked there, left after the final whistle and we were back home in Derby by 6pm!

I filled in the club request for feedback today and suggested a park and ride, surely they could invest in a plot of land and run buses on time just to there and back with priority down the closed off side of Stan Matthews way? This would reduce traffic around the ground, generate some revenue to pay for it? Use electricity buses to show green credentials and rent it out when no Matches for much needed truck parking or something

Parked on the south car park and was home in Derby for 6 yesterday. Some weeks better than others - there is a decent place near the school in Blurton if you can be bothered to walk. Think its a 5er but you get out pretty quickly
