Screwfix closed so we carried on up the hill a little to park on Glenn Dimplex just before the rugby club (?) Cost us a fiver which is fine but then took ages to get off. It was 5.55pm when we finally got onto Stan Matthews Way! ![>:D](//storage.proboards.com/800541/images/3fpOQXhXVXuSM73B6hK4.gif) There's go to be a better way! How on earth did it take you that long? We parked there, left after the final whistle and we were back home in Derby by 6pm! We left at the final whistle but sit in row 34 (block 29) so it takes us a while to exit the stadium. We don't walk slowly and got straight into the car and just queued a) to exit the car par and b) join the rugby club exiting lot It *never* took that long from Sctewfix

BUMP Anyone have any news on Screwfix and/or Pets4Us? So I spoke to the guy who manages the car park further down. Apparently Pets At Home are moving and that's why they have stopped. No info on Screwfix.

Come on Stoke owners get this sorted.
Ano successful business recognises customer needs and takes action.
Buy some land, build a multistorey, set up a cooperative with a the other businesses in the area, coordinate with the council and police, park and ride from outside the area, etc.

There's a massive fuck-off vacant area between our centre-backs if you fancy parking there. Only issue is you have to change ends at half-time.

Went on Glen Dimplex again today - it was even worse than last time ![>:D](//storage.proboards.com/800541/images/3fpOQXhXVXuSM73B6hK4.gif) We got into the car at 5.20 and it was 15 minutes before we even moved an inch and 6pm before we made it to Stan Matthews Way Not sure how dobber managed to get home so early last time! Not sure where to try next time, but not there!

When we left the car park today it was just starting to back up towards the bit where you go out. I guess we made it out just in time.

Well I fucked up today... Feel free to laugh.
When I don't go on the train, I tend to park on Screwfix which once again wasn't an option. So I parked on that ten pound car park further up..... Which locks its gates after an hour unlike pets at home and screwfix.
Guess I'll pick my car up on Monday then lol

Pets at Home have completely moved from the depot and it doesn't look like the owner/landlord will be opening the car park up.
Did anyone else notice that it was empty before kick off but some gypsies had broken in and were making themselves at home there after full time?
I doubt the building will be legally occupied anytime soon, Pets at Home' lease was supposed to run for some time longer but were forced to move because of subsistence in the building (meaning they couldn't use half of it). Boring details aside, I can't see the landlord finding a new tenant given that.

A properly organised and executed park and ride would solve about 70% of the atrocious access and parking issues at this ridiculously located stadium.

I have just repeated this on the post match survey sent to me by the club. The trouble is they want you to pay and park on the car parks around the ground and they aren't full yet.

The club should lease the car parking from all the business owners around the ground for the day. Take a nominal charge from each car parker to cover expenses and give any balance to charity.

Not providing car parking when the stadium was built on open land was a huge fail.

Also, I've sent a note to the landlord and asked if I can operate it on matchdays and split the profit. I'll need to stack up taking someone on to run it for me (as I still intend to go to games) but I've asked for the entire car park, so might give us all a bit more capacity. I don’t know if he'll be receptive to it but if so I'll try to keep it at £5.

Not good but apparently this is better than the Vic, so.

Screwfix was not open but as I drove past there seemed to be a few cars in there and two guys in high Viz manning the barrier.
Crazy really. It would be interesting to hear the reason that somebody has decided to withdraw the facility.

Parking has always been a shower of shit. The bottom car park is a free for all most games. Some stewards telling people to go to bottom gate then being told you can’t turn left. That happened to us yesterday and was told it’s because fans are walking in the road so you can’t go left only right. Yet past that exit they’re still walking in the road! Also the game before we were allowed to turn left 🤷♂️ Absolute shower of shit, just like what was on the pitch yesterday 😡

Just called Screwfix to see if there was any update or progress on the match day parking. The lady on reception said it’s not being offered this season. I’ve tried to clarify if it’s a permanent NO or could change, but she advised it was unlikely to be offered for the foreseeable future. What a shame.

That’s a real shame about Screwfix. I’ve not been able to get to a game this season so far due to illness but have always used Screwfix previously. Many thanks Gary

I’ve looked at so many options, now working with a fine mix of trying the other car parks which are a bit closer, but there’s so many issues with getting away, etc. Screwfix was just ideal. Bit of a hike, but an easy on & off. Hoping for spaces on the local bus tomorrow 🤞

It’s wank and take ages to get away. Walk half hour and don’t get stressed. I use to live half a mile walk away, never quicker in a car (unless you want piss of the early leaver disturbers, which might be mistaken for an old bladder need expelling)
