I'd have kept it as it is and just got rid of that Hugh fellow.

I'd have kept it as it is and just got rid of that Hugh fellow. I would do the opposite even as he is a rugby man he is a professional and better presenter. The bonus is they have got rid of the 3 poor pundits, plus it will be about the goals and hopefully not sucking up to certain teams.

Last time the highlights were any good was when Gabriel Clark used to present them on Sunday morning. A brief introduction from an EFL ground, then highlights of every game without interruption. No analysis shit or boring bollocks, just the games and the goals. Heaven.

I wont be content until all football pundits have been sacked off. It's just the same old cliches being wheeled out, adding nothing to the game.

Matt Smith use to present in a similar format when the highlights were called “the championship” funnily enough the intro in the video was from the day we secured promotion against Leicester!

They need to get a settled format because it gets messed about with on a yearly basis from who is presenting the show to what time it is on.

A flip-flap reaction to the fact that most people grab their highlights from the club or youtube, avoiding a huge % of the ads and trite spouted by the pundits. It's never going to be at the levels of the Premiership and perhaps a full reboot is needed. Studio format for these leagues isn't what people want nowadays, and as people have mentioned get something going with the fans etc.

Are they going to show Stoke highlights for a change?

Regardless of what itv do to the show , I will watch the highlights on a free platform that allows me to " skip ads ".
Millions of fans are going to do this and I can't see how itv are going to get round that .

I record it (it's on a bit late for an oldie like me) and watch it the next morning, using fast forward on the adverts and chat.

I thought without pundits it would be better, but the presenter is awful and my guess next up an interview with Plymouths groundsman after the next game.

Also, what's the thinking behind the running order they've chosen?

Not one for moaning or, in recent seasons, watching many highlights. Thought I’d give it a go tonight though, with the added incentive of a good Stoke performance, but!..
This has been pretty dire so far. Hardly any football shown with, instead, a multitude of Plymouth and Huddersfield interviews, I think The Terriers kit man is next…. I just want to see some highlights and goals, we’re nearly an hour in!

Needs scrapping. All highlights are via Sky/Youtube etc a few minutes after FT.

I never understood the criticism it used to get on Quest, especially when Colin Murray used to host it. Was a really good show IMO, a hell of a lot better than this vat of horses piss that is currently infecting the TV.

40 minutes on Plymouth v Huddersfield, Christ. Her face must be killing as well, that smile looks painful. It can’t be hard to put a decent highlight package together, can it?

Jobi McAnuff and George Elek in a studio and it's job done......

Gawd the Bet365 did look empty.
Official gate was 22K but was the stadium even half full?

Was just a pain to get on demand, on apps etc. iPlayer/ITVX for on demand highlights shows is pretty decent in comparison. But agree that Murray was a good presenter, should’ve kept him.

Jeeees…….. not watching it live again, 40mins in and I think there’s been about 10mins of footy !! I thought you were exaggerating but no literally two matches in the first 40 mins, and then the third one was the live Friday Night game. That needs improving.

Gawd the Bet365 did look empty. Official gate was 22K but was the stadium even half full? It was a genuine 22/23K most area well occupied only front seats empty due to weather and getting a better view.

Gawd the Bet365 did look empty. Official gate was 22K but was the stadium even half full? The main stand holds around 7,500. If they're were, say, 4,000 in there today (which would be just over half full and which you couldn't see see on TV highlights) that leaves another 18,000 in the stadium. Rotherham brought a reported 1,500 If you were there, then it's not hard to imagine another 16,500 Stoke fans in the rest of the stadium today.
