Luton are one game away from non-league to Premier League in 9 short years.
That would be some stunt wouldn't it?

It is some achievement. If you look at them, Sunderland and Coventry and their respective journeys, what a turnaround, but sadly as they say in Highlander….”There can only be one” . Can they keep the momentum going if they don’t make it this year? You feel it may be a one off for Luton and Coventry maybe.
Perhaps that’s where we’ve been going wrong, maybe we needed to be in a really, really bad place to give us the spur to get better. Having said that, I’m pretty confident we would still be where these teams have come from with how the club has been run.

Played well in fairness. Sunderland weren’t at the races but luton put themselves about, fighting for eachother, chasing down lost causes etc.
It is funny the attendance shaggers won’t be going up though.

There's a weird pub quiz question in there somewhere about which manager got his team promoted from the Fourth Division to the First Division but was only the manager for one of the promotions.

A return to how the game used to be played . Hoof it long so avoiding all this press crap . Win the second ball . Overpower teams with big physical players . Fight for every ball . Guardiola has changed the game . They even try to play out from the back in the national leagues. Enjoyed watching last night . Not everyone can be Man City

Just goes to show that it's not about having the richest owners, it's about having owners who know how to put a structure in place and build a successful football club based on the resources available to you.
Luton were non league 9 years ago. Cov were in league 2 5/6 years ago. Sunderland spent 4 years in league 1 and were the laughing stock of the nation not so long ago with the documentary.
The fact that all 3 have made the play offs, whilst we languish in the bottom half for the 5th season running shows that having mega rich owners, means absolutely jack shit if they're fucking useless at running a football club.

Good luck to Luton, it would be nice to see a new team in the Premier League rather than Coventry or Boro (both of which I have nothing against - but they’ve been there before)

Not everyone can be Man City Ive seen so many goals conceded by teams trying to play out from the back in non-league. Some of them really embarrassing, but there a lot of players and coaches who think because Barcelona and Man City do it, they can do it. Understanding one's own limitations is one of the most important skills in many walks of life.

Surely it's all down to the 'good work' done by Nathan Jones?
Erm, just like he did for us and Southampton.

Why is it every single thread becomes another excuse to bash Stoke city? Because things like Luton reaching the play off final really puts in to perspective just how fucking useless the owners, the managers and the club as a whole has been over the last 6 years.

They are absolutely horrible to watch. However what is undeniable is their work rate, desire and team spirit. They bullied Sunderland. Good luck to them.

Why is it every single thread becomes another excuse to bash Stoke city? LOL out loud! I think it's because the relationship we have with the club is an abusive one. Of course, that's the case with fans of nearly all clubs. But the levels of abuse we have suffered over the last 5 or 6 years are perhaps greater than most. So, the answer to your question is therapy!

Fair play to Luton weather they go up or not, they finished 3rd on what must be a low budget. the club must be run well,if they do go up they will get a few hammerings i am sure, but the money they make might help them to build a new stadium so it would have been worth it

Am I the only one who thought that was horrible? There was only one team playing football. I can admire Luton's commitment to going into challenges and blocks but the number of times they went straight into the backs of Sunderland players, barged them over, pushed them off the ball and grabbed hold of shirts without any sanctions from the referee just showed the poor standard of refereeing in the Championship. I understand allowing the game to flow but when one team loses possession because of illegal physicality it has to be a free kick.
I'm looking forward to Luton being in the Premier because a) we won't have to watch Stoke being bullied by them - I'd much rather watch football teams like Sunderland and Middlesborough. Can you imagine how boring it would be watching two teams playing like Luton do? and b) I want to see if they get the pelters Stoke used to get because they make Pulis's teams look like football purists. And on top of that, how do they get away with no investment in their ground? I'm looking forward to seeing Man Utd and Arsenal fans in that away end next year.

Said the same myself, they are a vile horrible team to watch. They push, pull, trip. They're dirty as fuck and they get away with a lot of it. They do however have a lot of yellow cards this season, think Alfie Doughty is on 11 for instance because of the constant cynical nature of their play.

We weren’t bullied by them as you say at home last season in a 2-0 win🤔I seem to remember Souttar starting and we won comfortably.
