I get back in the car very very angry after what can only be described as utterly woeful performance to hear cutting edge journalism at its best😡It’s probably one of the worst performances I’ve witnessed in many a year from a set of uninterested/unmotivated players and management and all our intrepid friend can come out with is that question😳 The manager needed challenging as to why yet again the performance was so bad at home against a team that were utter dross.Everyone of those players tonight( with the exception of Taylor) should donate their match fee/wages to charity and I also include the management who were equally as bad. So so bad😡

That performance against an all but relegated Wigan whose players might not get paid at the end of the week.

So so bad😡 They aren’t really “journalists” are they. It’s a local radio station of a crap Championship squad. It’s hardly going to get you World class coverage. They just ask the questions that they are told to, or ask questions as softly as they can and move on. Why would you expect anything more?

The local media aren’t worth bothering with if you’re expecting anything other than toeing the party line.
Not bothered with it for a long time and I’m surprised many people do, but as ever, each to their own 😇

Graham McGarry or his replacement no doubt. It's widely believed that both John Acres and Nigel Gleghorn were axed from Stoke City reporting duties after daring to speak out against the subject matter at the time.

Tonight was quite simply a show of Disorganised, Disinterested Dross from SCFC!
I'm sick to the back teeth of seeing the away end erupting & the opposition players celebrating in front of them after another (usually winning!) goal against us. It seems to be every home game we're subjected to this scene and its becoming tiresome!
At a time when the club should be trying to encourage & entice fans to sign up for the 2023/24 season we're being showcased what was produced for us tonight 🫣🙄 !
It's like showing a prospective purchaser round a new car but the tyres all being bald and flat with the windows all smashed. Hardly a tempting endorsement is it?!

The team work was crap. Not the individual skill of each of our players. I dont mind us playing backwards and sideways to keep possession of the ball.Playing at walking pace and quicker is fine. If the timing is right. To aid the movement of the ball.

The answer should have been…."we signed several players on loan in January most of who have no real heart for our club and know they will return to their parent clubs in May. They’ve done a job for us avoiding relegation which was a distinct possibility at Christmas. Now they can’t be arsed, they don’t understand that our fans make many sacrifices financially to watch our team play but these mercenaries are so far up their own arses they can’t see or understand the meaning. They’ll go home tonight knowing that, despite possibly the worst performance at home for many years, on April 30th they will get another several thousand paid into their banks, possibly more than most of our fans earn in a year."
I don’t know how the manager can sort this malaise.

“That’s 3 home defeats on the spin, the 11th home defeat of the season and against a side that are bottom of the league and hadn’t won away from home in 6 months, how do you explain that to the supporters?”
A pretty obvious question to put the manager last night. Hopefully someone has the balls to ask him something similar in his presser on Thursday/Friday.

Everyone knows when interviewing people that you have to tread on egg shells or risk being ostracised and frozen out. Clubs won't tolerate "hard hitting" reporter's and would ban then like a shot its happened at Stoke previously where managers have refused to allow some members if the press access. Fergie was famous for banning "hostile" press.

I would have liked a counter question along the lines of 'You knew that Wigan would be playing with blocks at the back, which as you say is very difficult to play against, so what did you tell your players as to how they should open up the Wigan defence?'. I fear the answer would have been 'Nothing. At this level players must know what to do'.

Players SHOULD know but most players are not known for their intellect, they should be guided by a decent manager......... which we lack!

Widely believed you say.. seems conclusive enough to me…. Considering neither covered a Stoke match again from that point on and in Acres case he was moved out of Sporting duties for Radio Stoke for good, its pretty obvious. I even asked a guy I know quite well who works at Radio Stoke why Acres didn't cover Stoke anymore and his answer of 'He wasn't allowed to discuss it' was also pretty revealing for me to know this was the reason why without it ever being confirmed.
