Didn't he sign a 5 year contract recently? Ouch, expensive.
Now normally I'd be taking the piss here, but I actually feel for the guy as he went through the trauma of his daughter dying during his Vale tenure which must have been absolutely devastating.......

They probably think that when he was out because of his bereavement and Crosby took charge they did better than they’re doing now, so have put him back at the helm!
DC is a fantastic manager and they have panicked when they are all but safe. Bad decision for them. Good news though is that when Joey Barton moves on he will be very welcome back at Rovers.

3 wins in 20 is a pretty rotten run tbf.
Wonder if they've got a whiff of someone else being available.

Nathan Jones?! 🤔🙄 Whilst he'll likely believe his stock has risen as he's been a Premier League manager and is also 'a top European coach' (in his eyes!) that EFL 1 maybe above his current stature level.
But he's worked well in the lower leagues before and perhaps be the kind of project he may seek to embark on given that he may need to reinvent himself after another brief but dismal record at a club with higher level aspirations.
Vale and Luton don't seem world's apart in view of stature, albeit Luton have the better history of achievements.
Do recall Jones taking in a match at Vale Park not long after being fired from Stoke, may of purely been to watch a game or perhaps he did have a link to the owners.
Can you imagine hearing his ramblings back on Radio Stoke pre and post match 🙄😬

He was a bit of a loon apparently and saw it in that play off match v Swindon also but tbf he’s been through a lot at a personal level and for that reason I won’t mock him
“Championship ready” club though

There’s a lot of fragile egos on a football pitch and in the board room! BM

Though if Ainsworth is going to be available soon I wonder if that would tempt them.

Madness, they will not attract anyone better and they're potless.
It's their first season back up with some big clubs in that section, what do they expect?

It’s clearly not a happy place.. As hinted above Nath on Praise and Grumble on the way home from a Stoke match would be to much for me. I would definitely switch off.

I think a combination of the owner’s bullish statement (Championship ready) and a decent start to the season has set expectations higher than they needed to be. Staying up should have been the first target, then looking to be mid table or better in season 2. Unless you’re well backed financially, it’s insane going up to league 1 and expecting to do well in your first season.

They aren't going to get better than him which is brilliant. I hope the shower of shit rot. He got them up after everything he'd gone through and has got them all but safe in their first season in that league and they go and sack him. They deserve all that comes to them the smelly soapdodging, greasy haired, spotty skinned, inbred Burslem bastards.

I said they just have to be looking to stay up this year. Then build. But they wanted playoffs first season in league 1.

Of the 4 that came up, champions FGR are relegated already, second and third placed Exeter and Rovers are doing exactly that first target and Vale are only one win away from doing the same with 4 to play. The owners or the fans? The best thing they could do is knock Vale Park down and start again. Amazing how many of their fans don't see it as an issue and have wanted to stay there.

It's ok mate it's not your fault try not to worry to much 😁 joking apart that's just totally unrealistic for them to expect playoffs first season. It was always going to be a case of them staying up this season and trying to build on that next year. I don't think most of the fail fans realise that they are punching above their weight being in league one but the fact is they are. They are a small club who are top half of league two and flirting with relegation in league one now and then. That is their level and it's about time they got used to it.

Very silly. It's like an anchor around their neck that place. Knock it down, build some houses and make a 10-12k purpose built stadium with community facilities, offices for other businesses and as many out of football money opportunities as possible. Then and only then might they stand a chance of getting back in the Championship.

There's a bigger gap in quality from L2 to L1 than there is in Conference to L2. Look how long Sunderland were in that division, plus currently Ipswich

Tbh as part of a wider thing they did, it'd probably be a good thing and would be another revenue stream from an otherwise dead piece of land. But they way they go on about it is like it'd give them millions and would solve all their ills in one go.

Would be ideal for Vale. & Walsall even have a market/car boot sale on their car park so that trend could be relaunched for them 😉🤣
