you still shouldn’t be calling our players ‘Wank’ especially Tymon, what’s he done wrong? I haven’t called him wank. And tbh why can’t you call our players wank if you think they’re wank? If they can’t be arsed then call them wank but he clearly wants to play for us, and I personally think he’s great when fit

He does try and he’s an ok footballer but he’s suited a back 5 only so has to go.

No I have a different opinion to you and you’re a big baby and don’t like that. Diddums. you still shouldn’t be calling our players ‘Wank’ especially Tymon, what’s he done wrong? Oh no. He disagreed that it was a stat that proves he's not wank, suggesting he is wank. Then went on to say he doesn't think he's wank in the next post. The blokes impossible and a waste of your energy.

Tymon offers nothing as a forward because he isn’t one. To think that by taking defensive duties from him will suddenly make him Gareth Bale is puddled. It worked for Gareth Bale and Ryan Shotton!!

I don't think there's much of a chance he features in the front 3.
So the remaining 8 games will pretty much tell us the story about Tymon's future.
The only opinion that counts on his ability to play LB is Neil's - and so far, you can't say it's looking great for him.

I think we’ll sell him for about 1 million (because the other option is the bench and other teams will know it) to whichever team comes down that likes 352. It’ll be a huge opportunity wasted. A great example of the board not having plans and brining in successive managers who don’t want to use the assets that we already have.

If we fail to build a team around Campbell or Pearson, we’ll be in a mess too. The Coates family wasted a season this year. Allowing MON a Summer to bring in more players was stupid given that he had ran out of ideas. If you want to change a system and not give players an opportunity to play in your new system then the club should sell those players at their peak value. That doesn’t exactly seem controversial to me.

Can't wait for Him at LB and Hoever at RB. That would really grip your shit. I think Pearson would malfunction as he wouldn’t know which one he should be covering. No problem with that I like a solid core and to take risks down the flanks. Laurent is a lot more capable defensively than you seem to think. Would that take something away from his game going forward? Yes almost certainly, could that be balanced with a more attacking AM than Smallbone? I think so, I'd certainly like to take a look see.

Evidenced by the fact that MON persisted with it without Tymon available. He though Jordan Thompson would be ok at LWB, tells you he was married to the system irrespective of the player in that or any other position. Nice bloke, did a fantasitic job when he first came, some very odd ideas about championship football.

Sorry but you’re just basing that on conclusions you might have reached. Hoever RB Sterling LB is no less risk laden than Sterling RB Tymon LB and AN seems happy with that level of risk. You may have concluded that Tymon can’t/won’t play as a FB but it’s only in your mind.

I wouldn’t base it on conclusions I haven’t reached would I? 😉 I want Tymon to be given a proper shot at lb now that we have an actual DM. However, it looks like AN isn’t that interested in the idea, so I expect him to be sold. I also expect that a player who is playing (Tymon last year) will be worth more than the same player who isn’t playing (Tymon now).

Tymon simply isn't good enough one on one defensively as a left back, and he certainly isn't a winger either. I like Tymon, but he isn't suited to 4 3 3 so what will be the sensible thing to do? If anyone makes a bid around £2M I certainly would sell.

Not sure we have enough evidence to say that with any conviction. Jack Clarke had Hoever on toast everytime 1 on 1. I’m happy to take the risk with attacking FB’s but your certainty one is so much better defensively than the other appears unfounded on the evidence we do have. Maybe you haven’t dug yourself in to the same depth on Hoever as Tymon but in terms of defensive work as a FB I don’t think there’s that much difference Hoever is a slightly better athlete that gets him out of his own defensive mess a little more than easily. Both are a little suspect defensively but you get the pay off at the other end. A player like Hoever/Tymon will get you more goals/assists a player like Sterling will get you more clean sheets. It’s a judgement call and I don’t fall on the defensive side of the argument.

I think we could get better for what we pay him from a younger more progressive player. I don’t think a player who adds nothing going forward is something I want to see at FB. If he merits a squad place solely as a CB so be it but there again he’s not good enough with the ball for me there either, he’s just a very poor footballer and I doubt that cheap either. EDIT: Is he (Fox) cheaper than the lad we signed from Charlton and fucked off to Luton after about an hours football? I doubt it and given the choice between the two I wouldn't choose Fox.

You are confusing how you want football to be played with how it is actually played. Some teams (like Liverpool) play with very attacking fullbacks but the majority of teams have fullbacks whose primary duty is to defend. To say defensive fullbacks are old news simply isn't true - even Liverpool's fullbacks are expected to defend properly and their failings in that department have cost them dear this season. You might think Hoever is your type of fullback but I really don't think he's the sort of fullback Neil wants in his team long term - he's just too reckless. Neil may have given Hoever a go at right back and his attacking contribution against Blackburn and Middlesbrough paid off but I think the free role in midfield against Norwich was an indication as to how much Neil trusts him as a defender. Sterling - who is way more defensively sound than Hoever - is more Neil's type as a fullback. Given Neil has been playing both Sterling and Fox ahead of Tymon it would seem he also has reservations about him as a fullback as well. Enjoy Hoever while you can - we can't afford him and even if we could I don't think Neil would take that much of a risk in a fullback when it comes to putting together a squad looking to get promoted. Like the vast number of managers he's way too pragmatic for that.

Hoever is clearly a better defender than Tymon! He's stronger but otherwise don't agree I've got no problems with others having another opinion than me, but I really don't rate Tymon as a defender. Hoever struggled with Clarke at Sland, but apart from that he has been dependable defensively as I see it. Tymon struggles defensively whoever he is up against in my opinion.

Like the vast number of managers he's way too pragmatic for that. We’ll if AN wants to play with FB’s who produce no output at the other end of the pitch that’s on him. He’ll either have to find another way to produce a side that scores sufficient goals or he’ll fail and eventually get sacked. You can track our recent upturn to the turn of the year and becoming a more freely scoring team. Highly pragmatic teams are rarely high scoring because they err towards low risk-low reward. It was my view initially that AN would be like that and that he has the side scoring a good number of goals on a regular basis is a pleasant surprise. He may well revert to type and become more risk adverse but will it produce the outcomes and football for which he is currently being praised. It’s no use portraying me as someone who advocates being completely gung-ho all over the pitch. I criticised MON quite severely for his blind spot for physicality, aggression and combativeness in the centre of the pitch and AN had addressed that beautifully. You have to take some risks to reap the rewards that supporters crave, I prefer to take those risks on the flanks.
