He was available for 13 games between the Rotherham and Sheff Utd games when he got injured, AN started him in just 4 of the games and we gained 11 points from them. I would argue he certainly would have helped over that period of time if he'd played more minutes....... How do you get 11 points from 4 games Okay , it should have been 11points from 5 games . 3 wins and 2 draws . As against 0 points fron 8 games during the period. Please let us know if you think that we might have got another few points from the 8 games or whether we might have even dropped more points than we actually did.

Please explain how you come to the conclusion that we would be in the bottom 3 now with some actual facts. Please don't keep giving us your opinion but show us what you base it on. No one has facts one way or the other do they 😂

He'd have probably done slightly better, but still not well enough. And obviously he takes the rap for the shit show of a summer transfer window last year which has left us with such a mess of a squad.

You look at the 5 games MoN took charge of and we were lucky not to lose 4 of them. The summer window of his killed us. All 9 players he signed made us worse. He can get in the bin. Which is where this thread belongs.

No one has facts one way or the other do they 😂 Well I was able to give some facts to support my opposite opinion. If you have any argument with the stated facts then please let us know. I was probably foolish to take your remark as a statement of fact, but it would have helped if you had said "in my opinion". You might also have said that without any logic behind it, I believe it to be true so therefore it is true. And everyone else should believe it as well. By the way, this doesn't mean that your opinion is wrong. We will never know.

He was here for what two and a half years and we need another rebuild. It's embarrassing really.

Aren't we lucky that AN has signed 6 players (more than half a team). Surely out of the other 22 or so players we had signed we should be able to get 5 to get a good side out of. Especially when most of them managed to get 62 points last year in a tougher league.

Powell would have started another 6/7 games by now……. Sorry but disagree can’t see him playing more than 3 games between now and the end of season. But is that because he doesn't like playing AN brand of football? Apart from last season Powell played a decent number of games for MON and influenced those games. Last season he missed some games through a broken leg not continual muscle problems. Same can be said about Campbell who seemed to have a healthy relationship with MON but not the same with AN. They are two of our most influential attacking players. I also wonder whether MON would have had a better rapport with Delap and nurtured him better through his struggles. I did feel that MON had to go at the time but if I'd known he'd be replaced with AN and his brand of football I'm sure I wouldn't have felt the same. I didn't like AN at Norwich or Preston so this is not a reaction to what has happened at Stoke.

Very doubtful it would have been better, he wasn't cut out to be a club manager.
Couldn't handle the fitness side nor the wheeling and dealings required to push us on.

In his first season MON got Campbell scoring and got 56 points. In his second season he brought on Souttar and Tymon and despite losing Campbell and relying on Vokes for goals he increased his points total to 60. In his 3rd season he had Souttar and Powell for less than half the season and got Brown and Baker scoring and got us 62 points. With that record what would suggest that his points per game would collapse this season from 1.35 points per game to 0.9 points per game. That is just ludicrous.

Couldn't handle the wheeling and dealing. How do you think that he avoided a 12 point deduction? Regarding fitness. AN has had over 5 months and a preseason in Dubai and I don't see any improvement in fitness. During the time that you think we were not fit we conceded very few goals late in games which you would expect if we ran out of steam. It's amazing that MON could get us much more points in a tougher league than we have got this season with an "unfit squad"

Hope you are happy in the alternative Universe that you inhabit, and hope you get well soon. Nothing you said changed my opinion. If you continue to ramble on with your unfounded comparisons between the 2 your tiny box shaped universe will shrink. Try to formulate an objective by talking solely about subject matter, in this case, MON. His biggest issue was that he was tested in his abilities to shift from International to club level, which is a huge gulf and ultimately he failed due, in my opinion, to his lack of experience in the areas which I pointed to. What Neil has done, or hasn't, since does not change those points. Better?

I hope you are not having reading problems. The title of the thread is : Would M'O Neill done any better ? Yea I think he would for the reasons that I gave. If you think that the reasons are incorrect you should explain why they are,not simply parrot your own opinion. Some people believe that the world is flat. That does not mean that it is.

Obviously you cannot knock my arguments or stand up your own. You claimed the team was unfit under MON .Are they fit now? You haven't got any arguments, just opinions, and you are welcome to them. Hard to say if they are fitter without knowing the clubs data but signing a few new players known to be unfit/injured I doubt it but that again doesn't change MON's faults that he arrived and left the club with

It is obvious that you are unable to recognise an argument and it is clear that that you had access to the clubs data when you were able to tell everybody that the team was unfit. I We were staring relegation in the face when he arrived. We weren't when he left. We still aren't at the moment. Only a fool would attempt to deny that MON left the club in far better shape than he found it. I hope that we will be able to say the same about ALEX NEIl. I think you are getting your managers mixed up .MON didn't sign unfit players. But Alex did sign 2 players out of his 5 that haven't been able to play due to injuries.

I said the current team was probably less fit due to signing unfit/injured players. But carry on rambling it seems you enjoy making yourself a prat

I think marginally yes. On the plus side our key players, Tymon Baker Powell Campbell and Brown have all struggled under AN but performed well under MON. We probably would have scored more, giving us a better chance of winning more games. On the minus side he was losing the plot and running out of ideas and we may have shipped a few more goals. So not a lot of difference, which only underlines what little positive impact AN has had on the team and results. It doesn't bode well for the future.

Exactly, the whole thread is an opinion based subject isn't it. For what it's worth I don't think he would have done any better. Can you explain why you believe that please? Because his unbalanced team looked dreadful at the start of the season and the problems we’ve had would have remained until January at least, and the signings he made in the last few windows didn’t fill me with any confidence that he’d have addressed things in January either. You agreed yourself that the signings we made over the summer didn’t do us any favours.
