For all their fancy nogger, we restricted them to 3 shots on target the same as us. But I fully expect us to return to a league game mode on Sat. & concede early, then huff & puff, miss easy chances & come away with nowt. Were they even in first gear? Their only bit of football was for their goal and it came with comparative ease. The rest of the time they kept us at arms length and had one of their easiest games of the season. All that with an ageing number ten in Pascal Gross playing at right back! In truth we didn't lay a glove on them.

Brighton fan here. I thought that was peak Brighton, tbh. World class in possession, but didn't score what our over all football looks like it warranted. We should have won our last two league games but took a single point. That's football, that's Brighton.
Stoke are shit at the moment, but I don't need to tell you that and I'm not crowing about it - I'm 51 and we've been far shitter than you for about 30 of those years and one day we'll be shit again, although I suspect only when Tony Bloom leaves the club.
One last thing - to all those saying BHA didn't get out of second gear and it was a much changed side. Neither of those are true. a) We play like that most weeks and b) the only player in that starting XI whose inclusion in a league XI might raise eyebrows is Jason Steele, the keeper. So judge your players as you see fit, but that really wasn't remotely close to an Albion second string. Mitoma, Mac Allister and Caicedo are all world class, and Lewis Dunk has always been a better centre back than nearly every other English alternative. He's got just one cap thanks to Southgate continuing that clueless tradition of only picking players from the clubs with the biggest support, the Palace prick.

Well he’s made you look like a right divvy there Hardly. I was commenting on his first half performance particularly when he ran the ball out of play for a corner under no pressure. Much better in the second half.

Live the moment sunshine, however your “professionalism” with neat collapses on slightest contact and dreary time wasting helped your cause no end. Your basking over your prima-donnas will all too soon disintegrate - when you fail to win the cup.

Meanwhile, you seem to have misunderstood the general tone of my post, which is that I 100% recognise we won't be good forever and that football is cyclical. Plus that IMO you should judge your players against one of the best 6 teams in the country, not a second string side, because that wasn't a second string Brighton team. And yes of course we won't win it. We never win anything. In fact, we'll draw Burnley away next round and lose. Anyway best of luck for the rest of the season chaps.

So your saying we won’t be in a relegation battle in April , he made good subs , we really looked like scoring , it’s a game og high media interest played out in full stadium fair enough but Aprils going to be a huge shock to the nervous system The club has been on the decline for the last 5 years. We’ve made questionable decisions on managers, and our transfer policy / strategy has been shocking. We all know that. It’s not going to get better quickly. We’ve been woeful most of this season, our squad is terrible, and we have way too many League One players. We know that too. We gambled in the January window, hoping we have enough to stay up, so we can actually build a squad in summer capable of promotion. I don’t think there is a chance in hell, that we will get relegated. We have more than enough (insert more appropriate word that quality) to pick up the points we need. It probably won’t be pretty, and I’m sure there will be lots of things to complain about. But I’m resigned to that, in order to enjoy next season (hopefully). Today we played against a fantastic team, we pushed them, even if we never quite looked like winning. But there’s not too much to complain about after that game. If you read it i didnt complain i recognised the effort just said it was grey as normal never really troubled them and jsut summed up the neil reign which has seen the lowest home gate since relegation , the worst hime form and the acceleration of the supporter apathy towards the club

Don't come on here with any form of a positive take, tut tut, great post and great to see an opposition supporter spell it out in black and white, some on here think we are the only club who are having troubles! Totally agree with your post!

Not everyone misunderstood the general tone. It was entirely clear (to me) that you weren't gloating. And it's a statement of fact that we are awful. Always disappointing to lose, but not remotely disgraced, and on that performance we do not look like a relegation side. Small mercies.

As someone who stood behind the goal next to Adam Rooney's parents when we stuffed them at that bloody athletics ground, I'm heartened by Brighton's rise. Good luck to them.

I thought that was one of our better performances. Amusing to get messages from my Brother who hasn't had a season ticket and has barely watched us on tv since the season before the pandemic who thought it was utter dogshit. Spoilt bastard I'd be inclined to agree with you. But we played against a team that didn't press us or kick us and allowed us to play, while not getting out of 2nd gear themselves. If we are given enough time we can look ok, unfortunately most teams in our league are not so obliging. Is anyone surprised to learn that Brown cannot play CF?. I can only assume the answer to that question is AN, after all he picked him to do so. Good to see Axel and Lowe on the pitch. They played the same goal kick over and over and none of our players seemed to even notice, nevermind attempt to do anything about it. We will stay up this year because enough clubs below us are even worse than ourselves.

Or we did recognise but then by pressing a goal kick maybe our analysts and management team had seen that routine create chances from coverage they had watched and watched and decided to let them do it without us pressing? It's a funny old game football

Coincidentally, and assuming he still lives in or around Sandbanks, our (former) manager does indeed live not far from Swanage.
