Only realised we play France in quarters so doesn't matter what we do we won't beat them. Tunisia just did , they aren’t that good and if we can play good attacking football we can beat them , unfortunately Southgate will revert to all defensive shit and we’ll lose I doubt they will be fielding half of their reserves in the knockouts like vs Tunisia. But hopefully we just focus on Senegal. They are a decent team and will be the first one we face thus far. We should still have more than enough to see them off comfortably though.

It's just nice being able to watch "our" team play some decent footy for a few games without having to "fuck off up the [insert team that plays better footy than Stoke]"

Dean Ashton , think England take too long playing the ball out from the back...
He is right , but he should try watching Stoke!
We really need to move the ball much quicker for the reasons he mentions

Random Ghanaian MPs are doing elaborate Harry Maguire jokes in their parliament now
Very harsh!

Senegal may be the toughest team of the so called weaker nations! They have some reasonable quality in Sarr and their CDMs are big and strong. Probably weaker on their left side of defence than right, so I fancy Foden to have a right good to at ‘em.

They are very athletic, fast and clever, but sometimes naive, we aren't up against Dan James and 3 ageing has beens now though. We have the tools, get the job done and move on.

we should have no problem versus Senegal with Foden on After today, don't underestimate anyone. Should have enough but you don't get into the last 16 if no good.

Looks like Brazil will be the ONLY team to finish on 9 points.
Amazingly only 3 teams on 7 points (England, Netherlands and Morocco) and we’ve got by far the best goal difference of the 3.
All good.

There are that many teams coming unstuck to supposed lesser opposition. Could we be next?

There are that many teams coming unstuck to supposed lesser opposition. Could we be next? Yes we could. We play to our maximum and we win. This tournament is wide open, my head says we won't win it, but none of these teams are stand out sides, and if it wasn't for Mbappe nobody would be worried about France, as man for man, bar him, we are every bit as good as them.

Impressive or meaningless? Both. England are a far better side than we give them credit for, and eased through the toughest group. The group stages mean fuck all now we are playing knock out football.

The group stages mean fuck all now we are playing knock out football. Still think their problem will be not controlling games v the better sides. Last 2 big games they went a goal up very early then had no game plan. Certainly got the players. They let Croatia and Italy ease back into those games, allowed Modric to boss the semi final. Certainly got a very good chance.

I just hope that Southgate doesn't go back to the back 3/5 formation, but we all know he will as soon as we are up against a good side.
