I understand it’s a mid week game. But 2-0 up in the first 15 mins Beating Nathan jones who we all agree is a wanker…. Yet we could barely muster a song..
a half hearted rendition of Delilah appeared in the second half that died out as soon as it began.
When we did get a song going it’s so disjointed - the south stand starts, the boothen starts 5 seconds later with an echo… I never know which ear to join in with left or right.
It was pretty embarrassing that the loudest song we sang was “how shit must you be we’re winning at home. ” which whilst it’s all good fun is pretty crap it’s the loudest song …
We say we need a good performance on the pitch to get the crowd going… well come on. 2-0 up. Sticking it to Nathan Jones. Battling performance. Only wish the crowd matched what was on the pitch today.

I agree it was poor tonight.
Nathan jones got more stick than he deserves really.
And the “how shit must you be” can’t really be much of a confidence booster to the players.
I think it’s a sign of how far we’ve fallen. We can’t be arsed on or off the pitch.

It’s a good win but the way we played couldn’t really get the fans excited. Was louder when we were 2-1 down vs Birmingham because the game was more entertaining and had fans on the edge of our seats

Well for the first time for ages as ST holder (x3) we did not turn up tonight on a cold and wet night at the 365.
Unsurprisingly we got a result and equally unsurprising as I expected someone comes on here and moans about poor support.
Try being a bit positive when we have eventually got a result instead of trying to achieve key board points , whilst contributing nothing constructive.

Midweek, cold, small away following, 30-odd% possession, on a poor run of form, and I get the feeling most fans were expecting us to concede so like Bayern says, relief.
As for the Boothen/South stand fans being a second or so apart, with no singing in the other two stands you’ll get that delay because of how sound travels.

Our support has been poor for years. But then again so have the performances.

It wasn’t loud but it also wasn’t unsupportive. Think it was more of a relief on 90 minutes when it got a bit louder and we knew the game was won.

The crowd generally matches the performance. A good 20-25 minutes followed by a complete surrender of territory, at home to Luton Town, is not going to generate a good atmosphere is it?

Where I sit it is quite obvious and I am always surprised that comments on here don’t realise that.

The speed of sound is 343m/second therefore the time taken for sound to travel from the South Stand to the Boothen is 105m/343m = 0.306 seconds.!

I thought the chants of ' Nathan Jones your football is shit' was unjustified. At least they came and had a go and they were pretty fluid and moved the ball well. We need to be better than that as footy fans. Good luck to the bloke.

It was quite a strange atmosphere but the game was lacking any real quality again, apart from the first few minutes of course. Why do our players shit out of challenges so often? Why does the ball get hoofed centrally when it's clear that launching it into the channels for wider players to run onto is far more effective? And why does Liam Delap lose the ball so often, after getting into good positions? So much of our play is still frustrating and disappointing, so hardly surprising that the atmosphere suffers.

It's pretty obvious that the Stoke fans were commenting on his pathetic period as our manager.

Maybe beating his chest or his fascinating tattoos gave him credit in the bank. Luckily his tenure was over two seasons or he would have relegated Stoke. It doesn’t matter what he did elsewhere, he will go down as one of the worst Stoke managers ever.
