Think some of the reactions are a tad harsh in all honesty. It was an 8 minute video where he was basically asked to summarise what the approach has been in the transfer window and what the plans are for the squad they want to build. It was never going to be a thesis defence. “Cultural architects” is a funny phrase but no funnier than people screeching for the return of “Walters and Whelan type players with pashun” and the two are basically synonymous. It’s a term to describe players they want to bring in to define the place and the playing style, whenever Neil gets round to deciding what he wants it to be. It’s also the first time you can hold the club directly responsible if they don’t meet that squad build rather than way more nebulous phrases used in the past like Jones’ “a team you can be proud of” and Coates “we want to be the best squad we can be”. If they don’t sign those leaders as he’s laid out you can go after it directly and hold them accountable with some transparency. I have my doubts about Neil and I have my doubts about Martin because he wouldn’t be here if the former wasn’t. Which is back to front from how it should be because the board should have been initiating these changes and not the manager (again), but he’s been pretty transparent about the situation and the plan moving forwards and for a brief update I think it was fine. And this is coming from an arch critic of the board and the culture of the club. You are wasting your time mate …he’s been here 10 minutes It was a quick short hearing but the verdict has been delivered the the notorious Oatcake court Cringeworthy This is a football messageboard and people are expressing a view. Can I suggest that this tedious “kangaroo court” bollocks you constantly peddle when the views don’t match your own is much more “cringeworthy” Or perhaps every comment be vetted by our resident superfan….

To be fair he’s signed 5bplayers one is no better than we had judging by Luton keeper , ones crap Hoever and two are in the hospital its not a glowing start but by May we will know if the window was a signal of better things to come or a new low

Maybe some think it's harsh but it's the utter bollocks that football is turning into, we need good committed players and play football that Stoke fans enjoy watching, which is high tempo 100% effort with a bit of flair, also we bed to give our young players a decent chance.

It’s classic Benji being completely over the top, he’d describe a paper cut as a 6 inch deep laceration.

The issue here, surely, is a bloke who started the video off by saying how hamstrung we were by FFP when he arrived, yet ended the video by measuring our January window as a success in the form of number of arrivals rather than quality of the arrivals or the situation we now find ourselves in.
That situation being absolutely no mention of two players sat in the stands at any given time due to the loan limit, which automatically flies in the face of the financial FFP saving he was self congratulating over.
Full of front and bullshit. Still, that's what happens when you handover complete power to the first team coach.

Tricky Ricky's January window debrief What I found surprising and worrying was that apparently we had to move some of the loanees on early and not replace all of them because of FFP so in effect we started the season with a squad we couldn't afford to pay for the whole season without falling foul of FFP. That's quite alarming - I'd have thought the squad size and pay structure would have been budgeted to see us through the season without having to make savings in the January window. Why would you plan on the basis of having to weaken your squad halfway through the season? He seems pretty confident that the squad is strong enough to reap the financial benefits of the January window while still in the Championship. I wish I was. If we do survive it's going to look like a good plan, well executed. If not it's going to look daft.

That bullshit squad slides moment was cringy. He could have summed it all up by saying aiming to get a balanced squad. I’m just glad there wasn’t a slide that said “Ageing, injury prone,de motivated, wasters”……by Jove, I think he’s got it 😂😂

All this 5 pillars stuff is pie in the sky.
At the end of the day, the fans and the manager will want the best players to produce the best team. This notion of slotting them all nicely into the relevant pillar is nonsense. Are you telling me we wouldn’t sign a top player because we have too many in the ‘key’ pillar already* and need to top up the emerging talent?
Just build a competitive, organised team with a bit of skill and entertainment value FFS. Stop signing shit players 5 years past their sell by date and the squad balances itself.
*chance would be a fine thing

If we do survive it's going to look like a good plan, well executed. If not it's going to look daft. It depends on what size crowds the club were budgeting at the start of the season. If the poor form we have shown all season means that we are say 2,000 ticket sales down for every game, which doesn't seem unreasonable, then our turnover will be pushing £1m less than the budget. On that basis I can easily understand why our FFP position had deteriorated by the end of December.

It’s a sad part of the attention seeking internet we all live under today, taking one upmanship to the absolute max under an anonymous profile. Bizarre. Some are just worse than others! It’s like a drug isn’t it? I got banned last month for outing Bayern and his quest to go against any grain in order to argue and stand out to gain attention. Full on headcases who’d be pushed towards medical help a few decades ago.

Ricky which Pillar does todays effort fit into and how does I represent improvement ? He didn’t appoint the manager, the manager appointed him. I don’t want to stick the boot in to RM right now, but that football pitch diagram thing is embarrassing, a teenage FIFA player could make that up.

Heovereasa recruitment no right now that’s got Gayle playing and a team without any effective forwards a dud second keeper and a chronic lack of creativity in midlfield and he thinks that’s progress because the owners have improvised the infrastructure he is full of shit .

I'd also say leris was a stoke ish kind of player but think he's absolute terrible myself.

Ricky fookin Martin as our recruitment guy is the equivalent of giving me 1m nicker to play on the dow jones in the hope I'll make a profit. Might happen but if it does it'll be a total fluke. Dont know his erse from his elbow 😆
