This isn't debating whether it'd be right or wrong. It's considering how it'd change.

considering the weight of the ball's now compared to years gone by, a heading ban would be completely pointless and be detrimental to the game.

Would change the game radically to a "Barcelona" way of playing things at all levels. What would a corner look like for instance? Always a short one, would the 10 yard rule have to be changed as a result? Would the throw in have to be changed? The game would look very different.

Not many would bother to watch and certainly not pay to watch. Therefore, it would kill the game off because there would not be enough income to pay the players and support the infra structure.

What about protective head gear so that heading would be allowed?

What about protective head gear so that heading would be allowed? I could see it happening . Surprised boxing has managed this long. Be protective wear for the Scrabble world championships if some get their way.

What about protective head gear so that heading would be allowed? Doubt you'd have much control over direction with head gear on.

A few of the junior leagues have trialled it this season (thankfully not the one my lad plays in).
Apparently it's absolute chaos and ruins the game. Who'd have thought it?

We've been told we cannot head in training, and not to do any pre-game warm ups/drills that involve heading. I'd be lying if the kids don't do it occasionally, if a ball is there to be headed it's impossible to stop most of them. I understand it to be fair especially whilst they're very young, but no headers in a game is a step too far.........

Wouldn't impact too much on Ty Unless a ban was accompanied by a "no ball to go over head height" rule it would be very chaotic, as opposed to just extremely chaotic

Wouldn’t be any different for Campbell as he can’t head it properly anyway , as for the game it would be crap

Footballers like boxers, F1 drivers etc know the risks so who has the right to tell them they can't do this and that?
Was watching a debate on boxing a few years ago and some housewife had started a group trying to ban boxing...she had no affiliation with the sport and didn't know the first thing about it. Not much people don't try to ban as we know. Soon be a nation of softies walking around in bubble wrap. The more society bows down to these people, the more they'll interfere. If you don't want to head the ball play 5 a side of whatever or not at all. . Cricket with a sponge ball next.

I think if you ask Jeff Astle's family they will suggest that, until recently at least, footballers didn't know the risks and the 'powers that be' did all they could to avoid telling them. Making the link between repetitive heading of a football and early onset dementia is something that is only now being accepted as fact. Restricting heading practice, and avoiding heading in junior football, might just be the change that is needed

He played 50 plus years ago also in different conditions etc . F1 drivers have died, boxers etc. People get arthritis due to office work, vision issues etc Let's like I said wrap everyone up ....
