There may as well be a heading ban for Stoke Did we win one challenge in either box today? Pathetic. Too late to prevent any brain injuries the fans have suffered sadly

That seems to make sense. Also repetitive training drills of heading the ball banned.

Wouldn’t be any different for Campbell as he can’t head it properly anyway , as for the game it would be crap
One step away in Scotland

Footballers like boxers, F1 drivers etc know the risks so who has the right to tell them they can't do this and that? Was watching a debate on boxing a few years ago and some housewife had started a group trying to ban boxing...she had no affiliation with the sport and didn't know the first thing about it. Not much people don't try to ban as we know. Soon be a nation of softies walking around in bubble wrap. The more society bows down to these people, the more they'll interfere. If you don't want to head the ball play 5 a side of whatever or not at all. . Cricket with a sponge ball next. I think if you ask Jeff Astle's family they will suggest that, until recently at least, footballers didn't know the risks and the 'powers that be' did all they could to avoid telling them. Making the link between repetitive heading of a football and early onset dementia is something that is only now being accepted as fact. Restricting heading practice, and avoiding heading in junior football, might just be the change that is needed Why not let everyone drive round pissed up with no seat belt on, “as long as they know the risks” or let people ride pushbikes on the motorway “as long as they know the risks” You could apply that argument to almost anything! There have been lots of clashes of heads already during the World Cup, so it isn’t just about the weight of the ball.

That is a Bonkers "tick in the box" response from Scotland ffs. During a game a tall centre half could win heading duals a couple of dozen times in which case any damage is already done. Besides this how many teams train the day after a game and I’m sure training the day before would be only light.

Seeing as no one with any medical training in head trauma whatsoever has posted on this thread yet, I would hazard a guess that no heading training for a period of days after a match would at least allow the players head/brain to relax. I know sod all about boxing but do boxers go wading in at training a day or two after a fight?
