6 weeks to Australia's first match against France.
No sign of him for a year.
It's not happening, is it?

I think he'll make it back for the World Cup. Maybe won't feature in the opening game but in 6 weeks time I think he'll be fit and playing.

Pure guesswork. Nobody actually knows, not the doctors or not even Harry himself. I’ll just be glad if we can get a tune out of him for the second half of the season after Xmas.

He'll be rushed back, get injured in the WC and be out for rest of season knowing our luck

I kind of hope not, we don't seem to have much luck with people playing for there nation. Hope he comes back after the world cup for us.

Harry will not pass up the opportunity to go to the World Cup. No one would. Australia is definitely picking Big Harry. Even if Stoke City is 20th of 24 in a virtual second division ... and even if Harry has not played for almost a year. Australia and Stoke share a somewhat similar trait. Nobody likes to play either of us. Especially Arsene Wenger.

For him to even get on the plane he’ll need to have been playing for a few weeks for us though, surely. Therefore, you’d expect him to get some game time in the next couple of weeks?

They must fly out in 5 weeks. He won't be getting on a plane without 3 or 4 league games under his belt where there has been no issues with the injury. So unless in the next week Alex Neil casually says 'we've got Harry back...' then he ain't going. As someone said above 'pure guess work' on my part but we're allowed that on a football message board!

He'll be rushed back, get injured in the WC and be out for rest of season knowing our luck Not this stuff again ….shall we leave him until 2024 to make sure? He won’t be rushed back as if he was being rushed back he’d be playing now He’ll be back when he’s fully fit and ready to play and if he gets injured again it’ll be one of those things Who knows, if he goes it could work in our favour as he can get match fit and be ready for us on his return

Even when he’s back on the pitch, it could be several weeks before we see the old, ‘in form’ Harry back again. I really hope the ACL hasn’t stifled his pace when breaking out from defence.

A world cup tournament is a lot more intense , than joining in training , coming on for the last twenty minutes , last half an hour of a league game
Players that have played all season , have been known to struggle with the intensity of a world cup tournament
i have no idea if he is going, but if he is fit enough for a world cup tournament , then he is fit enough to play for us
its madness if he goes , and unfair on the club . A hectic world cup tournament , is not a phased return to work , following a major injury
Push too far , too fast and he risks getting another injury , nothing to do with his original injury , plus of course recurring the original injury

Soutter will be back playing around 2 weeks time, his training has been stepped up but just needs some match fitness.
Spoke to him last Saturday outside the training ground. Seems confident he will be at the World Cup.

None of them had the sort of injury Harry had though. Can't recall what Tyrese did.

Big night for him www.stokesentinel.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/stoke-city-australia-harry-souttar-7711305Stoke City and Australia will be watching as Harry Souttar makes his long-awaited first game back after injury this evening. Souttar, aged 23, is set to play for Stoke under-21s in a Premier League 2 game against Nottingham Forest (7pm) at the Impact Arena, home of Alfreton Town. Australia assistant manager Rene Meulensteen will be on the sidelines this evening, telling FTBL: “Harry's been progressing well and has been training pain free and we’re all looking forward to seeing him get back to match fitness and match rhythm. He’s looking good and he’s optimistic and so are we - fingers crossed we get it right just in time. “He is - and always was - a very important player for us, with his power and his presence there at the back. We certainly missed him in the second part of qualifying, as you saw with some of our results. "We conceded a few goals I don’t think we would have had he been playing. We dropped points which we wouldn’t have done otherwise because when you have a player with his aerial ability, who can also operate really well on the ground, that’s a terrific set of tools.”

Even if he does go, it's unlikely he will be playing full games. Or if he does probably not back to back.
Either way it will be interesting to see if Australia can finish above Denmark and make it out of their group. May not be too many games if they don't.

How is he still only 23?! He only has 100 senior games under his belt counting his loans, I don't think a lot for a 23 year old. Or do you mean he looks as old as the hills?
