Obviously there is no way he is going anywhere but after today I hope we start getting some fucking home truths about where we are going with this club both from Coates Towers and the manager. We need some hard hitting press interviews and comment based on reality not some powder puff half wit rhetoric about us making the play offs. He’s only been here a few weeks but he must have seen enough in that short time to give us some honesty if not least to maintain any interest from the fans that the players don’t seem to be able to achieve

I agree with your sentiments, the Coates family didn’t serve up that absolute shite today though the manager and players did……

The last manager got sacked, and a load of stick, for saying the squad wasn't capable of top 2.
This isn't the players fault who we all know are good enough to contend for playoffs.

I was hoping he was going to start with the basics at the back but that was fundamentally abysmal.

He didn’t sign these fuckwits. True he didn’t… but he picked the same Players and same formation that MON did and wonders why it’s not working… The same action causes the same results

I don’t think it can work.
They’re not good enough. The different in quality today was light years.

The last manager put this broken squad together over 2 seasons and right now it looks more like an act of vandalism rather than a positive rebuild. Neil has inherited a poisoned chalice it seems as of now.

In the 5 games under him we’ve been shit, and he needs to have a look at himself and start changing the things he can change, starting with the formation so we’re not playing 4-5 players out of position. We have the players for 4-3-3 with minimal disruption, just get it done.

Got the quality in the squad.. play a system to suit the players available.. we can make our own future.. aiming at promotion this season or the next one. Good stuff Embarrassing that you're coming out trying to defend our worst home league defeat in the championship and protect the manager from any form of criticism.

Yes I think people who said we've got the quality to challenge this season are being proven wrong. Turns out your mans eye for a player was the problem rather than the tactics. He didn't sign players that suited his plan.

O'Neill had run his race and is gone..let it go or follow his career instead if that's your bag. I am not the manager and was existing on hope after realising a managerial change was not happening..I thought O'Neill should have gone in summer 2021 tbh as I posted a fair few times on and off. However it's what Coates thinks that runs the show ultimately.

That was terrible and Neil deserves criticism but the squad he’s inherited is a shambles. It’s going to take a while to sort out.

Was delighted with his appointment but have to say overall I’m distinctly underwhelmed so far. Yes it’s the players to a degree but he’s not put his stamp on things at all yet.

He got a few things wrong today and he deserves some stick for it. Hopefully it’s the fire up his arse he needed because much more of that and he won’t last, it was absolutely dire

We need some hard hitting press interviews and comment based on reality not some powder puff half wit rhetoric about us making the play off The pundits on Sky said you would be livid about the lack of basic defending? Neil: "It's crap. Crap. I can rephrase it five times for five different questions but it's rubbish isn't it. "The players aren't stupid. They're grown men. I'm quite frank and honest with them. The fact is, if you don't do the basics well enough, you're not going to win enough games. "It doesn't matter if it's me or anybody else who walks in the building, as a professional, have a bit of pride in what you're doing and don't accept getting beat. "I've never had a team that rolls over and accepts getting beat, never."

I am by no means saying that it was any way acceptable, but I am not sure I’d have set us up much differently given what was available. We could have gone for a back 4, I suppose, but it still would have been lacking pace (Sterling aside if he’d have played right back). What should have happened undoubtedly is changing it miles before we did.
The most worrying thing, again, is that we look so much slower than almost every other team we come up against. We never seem to break at 100% or with any real control or belief in our play. Watford just played 2 or 3 quick passes and sprayed it wide to their men in acres.
He’s still trying to build a house with someone else’s tools and I still can’t quite believe how many injuries we have to key players. Add just 3 of them back in today and it makes it a whole different game. I fear that whilst we still have what we have, we’ll have games like this unless we literally go back to basics with no frills. Away from home we seem so much better equipped to play the way we want but at home we have been appalling for ages and now it’s almost a spell that needs breaking.
It was shit but we have to move on. Neil needs to be as ruthless as we’ve been told and the thing he has over MON, is that he is adaptable. I’m just not sure what adapting he can do with the players available. He can change things, but I’m not sure they’ll work. Fuck knows. Over to you, Alex.

Absolutely hamstrung by the owners and their inability to act and see the obvious months before the end of last season, the summer and the start of this season.
I'm still baffled as to why he decided to come to this shit show in the first place.
