God knows.
But not sure it includes Delap.
The effort was there, but just no way near clinical enough.
That header was easier to miss than score.

We cannot keep selecting Delap and Gayle. Huff and puff all you like, they're paid to do one thing and in 20 games they've managed it once between them from a yard.

We know what it takes to get out of this league and it's primarily having 1-2 players who can contribute 30+ goals between them.
We had them in Fuller and Lawrence.
It's still early days but so far Gayle, Delap and Campbell have scored a paltry 3 goals collectively.
That needs to change or we are destined for the bottom half again.

Right now Campbell looks by far the most threatening of the 3. But he had a poor game today, his finishing and decision making were way off.

Dwight Gayle is now 43 matches without a goal.
It's a misnomer to even call him a 'striker'.

If he'd actually gambled he could have had a least a couple. The strikers are a real worry. None of them look like scoring regularly. It's vital we keep Powell fit.

I don’t know if it’s lack of confidence due to not scoring for two years, or maybe he’s just past it - but there have been several times the ball has flashed past where you expect your goal poacher to be, and Gayle is either the wrong side of his man, or he’s beyond the far post seemingly hoping everyone else misses the ball, or like tonight simply flat footed. He has made some decent contributions outside the box, excellent occasionally, but surely we signed him on good money to get on the end of chances and score a few goals.

I think most of our goals this season have come from midfield and defenders. Nice that our goals are coming from all over the park but a bit embarassing really when you consider the strikers contributions.

I thought he had a good game especially first half playing deeper (In reality he was replacing Smallbone). His link up play and forward passing were excellent. I was disappointed that he wasn't pushed forward for Delap with Powell coming on. I think they could link well.

brown and campbell. gayle and delap unnecessary signings imo. That’s a comfortable “Hindsight” Statement. There are probably no clubs or fans in the Championship who wouldn’t have give their left bollock to acquire Delap and Gayle at the beginning of the season. We were chomping at the bit bit to get these boys. We got them. It hasn’t worked out so far. Maybe we need leadership from the Top Tier to change direction.

Delap is very erratic...all hustle and bustle...probably exactly what you'd expect from a 19 year old in his first professional season. His balance must be terrible as he always on his arse as the ball comes to him and he tries to control it. Probably should be an impact sub against tiring defenders until he finds some calmness and composure. Gayle, Campbell, Brown as the front three for me

If I was Jacob brown, I would be expecting to start games now .
He is one footed , but his movement is good and he can finish with his right foot

A tip for our strikers from a children's football comic!
I remember when my kids were playing under 9s etc they had a kids football comic Match ! Including cartoon footballer Matchy and a very small ( one paragraph) interview with a real footballer , with lots of pictures.
They ask this real footballer , Thierry Henry, what's your tip for the kids
Henry... start shooting around the keeper and into the goal Don't just shoot at the target, because in pro adult football goalies tend to be big and good and if a shots save able , they will save it . Don't worry if you try place the ball out of reach of the keeper and it hits the woodwork or goes a bit wide or over . You are on the right lines If you shoot and the keeper saves it , that's the time to worry. You are meant to try and place the ball out of the keepers reach and into the net .

The signing of the 2 new players has disrupted the rhythm of our forward line.

At least Gayles link up play is very good. His all round game is surprising given he was signed with many viewing him as a simple goalscorer.
Slightly worrying how we’re a better team with Delap on the bench mind.

Brown skied a decent chance at the end too Atm will go with it being just one of those games
Baker, Brown and Campbell are proven finishers for Stoke so for me no concerns there Gayle career record is excellent confident he will finish chances (don't think he had any last night?) Delap record at youth level is stellar but he does have to prove he can transfer that to first team level That header last night was shocking his good run but tame shot first half...he puts those away, he can do it
Given the lack of chances made before the change of manager I think we have to be pleased with the sheer volume of chances in last 3 games
The defending has improved Creation/General play has improved Finishing has to improve now

Only Stoke could take a prolific Championship goalscorer and one of the most sought after young strikers in the country and turn them to shit. It is incredible really. I know, but who would have thought, that bloke from the Halifax adverts , would have caused so much turmoil for the economy and the bank of England

Certainly not prolific. I have a problem with his work rate, always have. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tyrese_Campbell#Career_statisticsI think the over-hyping of Delap due to his junior record has turned out to be embarrassing for Stoke and it’s fans. Himself and Campbell are being undeservedly rewarded with loyalty from their Manager. They need to hear some home truths.

On paper our strike force should be full of goals, but reality is slightly different!
I am content with Gayle - his link up play and all round contribution offsets his lack of goals.
Delap is a concern - he looks like a young lad who is learning his trade. I am not quite sure he is ready to shoulder the pressure of leading our attack just yet.
Campbell has looked much better in recent weeks. I am not sure he is a 'natural' finisher though.
I like Brown. However, again, is he a natural finisher? Probably not, but his all round contribution is excellent.
AN needs to find a way to get a couple of them firing.

Really frustrates me the way he goes to ground virtually every one on one - even when shooting he seems to be on the way down somehow! For me a fit Powell starts, with Tyrese on the right and either Gayle or Brown on the left.
