All being well, Putin will be finished by the time of the next US election and Trump won't be running so its a moot point. American's are pretty dumb but I think the majority of Republicans are finally starting to recognise that Trump isn't the future. The Democrat's would far rather face off an 80 year old Trump with baggage than DeSantis. DeSantis would absolutely crucify Biden/Harris in a run off for President. Is Desantis the idiot who can’t handle people talking about people being gay? You'll love him.

A homophobic bet wetter who can’t handle free speech? No thanks. I don't follow foreign policy that much, but some people over there in Florida describe him as obsidious and dangerous. All I know is he will do some changes to the law on abortion and decrease the rights for hbtq people. Right wing religious?

The 'right' will have similar success in Italy later this month as well. The reason for the growth of the 'right' across Europe isn't 'racism or 'populism' or any other made up -ism. The reason for the growth of the right across Europe is the 'left'. People are sick to death of listening to their two faced hypocrisy and double standards and general bullshit. The reason BJ got onto power was Corbyn. The reason Trump got into power was Hilary. The reason the 'right' have been successful in Sweden is because Swedish leftys don't listen to the people they pretend to represent. You reap what you sow The reason Johnson got into power was brexit. And look how badly his leadership turned out. Trump ultimately tried to persuade fundamentalist nutters to overthrow the election result when he lost. Trump and Johnson are the worst possible examples of populist leaders as effective leadership. They are adverts for voting for sensible public servants rather than celebrities. If you like populism, you should be championing Macron, who at least held power for a second term.

They have suggested Strömmer instead of Forsell as Minister of Justice. That's not what I wanted. Forsell has some fresh ideas, and Strömmer has been revealed recently of giving advice to some person on how to give money away to the party for the Election tour without it being public knowledge.
Two other persons did the same and had to leave their political parties, Social democrat was one these two, don't remember the other one but it wasn't a member of SD Sweden Democrats, KD Christ Democrats or the V Left Party.

24 ministers will it be.
As it seems,
14 will be selected from the M Party (The Conservatives) 6 will be selected from the KD party (Christ Democrats) 4 will be selected from the L party (Liberals).
Considering M got 19%, KD 6% and L 4% of the votes - it seems strange SD Sweden Democrats who got 21.5% of the votes, will not get a single minister post ...

However unsavoury their views, given the proportion of the electorate that voted for them, they've a strong case for being represented in the Government. I believe the problem is that the Liberals would withdraw support (thereby removing the right-wing bloc’s majority) if the SD were to be given any cabinet positions. The SD have settled for a kind of ‘confidence & supply’ agreement whereby some of their agenda is included in the Government’s programme. I'd also be feeling a bit aggrieved at being the party with the largest share of the popular vote and being kicked-out of power. However, while no system is perfect, surely PR still beats FPTP, under which groups with significant minorities end up with no representation (Remember UKIP’s solitary seat from over 12% of the vote in 2015?) and a party that 60% of the electorate rejected can win a landslide.

The Liberal (illiberal) globalist left have been running this world for too long and people have had enough. Biden may as well resign now, it's all over for him. Just reading up on the potential new Italian leader. She seems lovely. “Meloni opposes abortions and laws that recognise same-sex partnerships or marriages.” “ She is supportive of changing the Constitution of Italy in order to make LGBT families illegal” I can only presume fans of hers are homophobes and don’t think women have the right to choose what they do with their bodies?

It sounds possibly like our counterpart the small party Alternative for Sweden (a splinter group from SD Sweden Democrats) or even more far away to the right than that.

I don't know what it's called in England, I don't even know if there's a counterpart? Speech leader?
I'm talking about the person who leads the meeting in our Riksdag (Parliament), where the Regering (Government) and the oppositionspartier (the opposite political parties) have their debates.
In case our ordinary Talman (Speech leader?) is absent, they have now suggested another one as reserve speech leader.
Julia Kronlid, SD (Sweden Democrats). She is most criticised for not accepting Darwin.
MP (Green Party) tried to suggest their own candidate, but since S and C put down their votes and didn't vote yes or no, as far as I understand it, it will be Kronlid.

Correction. Julia Kronlid, SD, Sweden Democrats, has been second reserve Speech Leader or what's it called ... (Talman), not first reserve. There is also a third reserve. The real Talman (Speech leader or whatever ...) is still our decent guy from the Conservative Party (M), the first reserve is from S (Social Democrats) and the third reserve comes from the C (Center Party). And there have already been a lot of hectic discussion on the decisions, especially regarding Kronlid. And all she's done is she said she doubted Darwin.
I just hope they gave piece a chance.
Not only in this country in every aspect, but all around the world! From now on.

Today we have October the 11th and still no declared government. Noone has a clue who the ministers will be yet.
Last time (when the Social democrats won) it took ages, many many months, but this time hopefully we have a result next month?!
The papers speculate. I read yesterday that the lowered energy prices is already a soon broken promise. Forsell, after all an eventual Minister of Justice, said yesterday turning the negative trend of violence and death shootings will take many years to beat. To be fair, he didn't promise anything else than to start with that delayed work if they got the votes.
I have no idea if the V+SD free dental care will be a reality either; One of many suggestions.

They are now secretly gathered in a castle, according to paparazzis.
The outcome will be a political change. The question is how big, from minor to major.

But they will instead get several vital positions within foreign politics, military defence politics, economic politics and law and order. So basically they're running it after all, come up with the examinations and conclusions and it will only be for the minister to execute their political suggestions. SD are very satisfied, according to interviews. The new Prime Minister has already been accused of being very lazy. Criticism both from the opponents and some from his own party actually. If so, good work by him anyway, to capture a larger salary as one of several opponent party leaders than the former Prime Minister! More than 2.2 Million SEK per year.

Here's a question for you, Musik.
Although I support PR over the UK's current system, Wags makes a fair point about the amount of time it takes to declare the Government. Are you happy with PR as a system, or would you change it to something like FPTP if you had the choice?

Here's a question for you, Musik. Although I support PR over the UK's current system, Wags makes a fair point about the amount of time it takes to declare the Government. Are you happy with PR as a system, or would you change it to something like FPTP if you had the choice? As I understand it FPTP means the winner takes it all. Read some info about Trump, Clinton ... where Trump won by a very small margin (still below 50%), but got so to say all votes. USA, UK etc would be examples where it exists. With PR (like in Sweden), they search for a constellation where hopefully the government, a mix of political parties, together can get more than 50%. It doesn't necessarily mean the largest party have something to say about minister posts though. Like now with SD. Historically speaking we have had minority governments as well (instead of a re-election), with less than 50% in Riksdagen (The Parliament). They will always have a struggle to get their suggestions through and executed though. In this case 2022-26, it should be a lot easier though, since SD The Sweden Democrats agree with lots of the M Conservatives and KD Christ Democrats ideas and suggestions. In my own view I would vote for a completely different system I wish they had implemented. First of all I don't believe in voting on persons. You should as a voter vote for a political plan. Secondly, I'm not the kind of person who likes debates without figures. I'd like to see a pamphlet/booklet/broschure prior to every National Election, where you can follow how much each political party think each category of people are worth. What rents should be, prices on electricity, health care, food by examples, everything. Everything has a number and is measurable. Easy to follow. That would be the only honest way. Third, I would have abandoned the idea of a government (Regering) and a Parliament (Riksdag) altogether! The Riksdag should BE the government. So when people have voted around our country up here, every single vote would have counted and would be represented. Unless you have voted on a very odd party with almost none vote, like the Push Buttons Party. Not every political party can get room if we are to keep the 349 seats, but at least the 8 major parties here, who collected about 98.5% of the total votes. Like now for instance, if 21.5% voted for a certain political party it should be noticed by 21.5% of the political decisions. And if 4.5% voted for a smaller political party it should be noticed by 4.5% of the political decisions. A bit simplified of course, but you get my drift. Fourth, I would also make sure the country is run a bit more like a company, with each party having their own speciality/specialities, where they have greater knowledge. And in any company ... hopefully ... people strive for the same goal. Fifth, the people themselves should have the right to vote on many more things than the National Election regularly. Special topics, issues. Direct Democracy. So the politicians primary task would be to present figures to the public, examine situations, gather knowledge, present it all, and execute what the people have decided. The politicians exist for the people, not the opposite. And most important, me for President.

Latest 🇸🇪
The new Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson, M, Conservatives has asked for time from the Speech Leader to present the new government.
It should have been done today Wednesday, but a new meeting will take place tomorrow Friday at 11 p.m. (swe time).
However, the new Prime Minister have also required the official voting can't be done until Monday. So, even if it has to be ready tomorrow, he needs the weekend ... 🤔
This process has been criticized already by the former Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson, S Social Democrats, who says the four weeks of no results will be four years of no results.
The V Left party leader says, this delay is disrespectful to the swedish people.
