What was that sub all about today then? He was like a fish out of water. He is a forward / wingback not a right back. Loved the 433 but Holden got that so wrong. That right side Blackburn had targeted all afternoon, Diaz had a field day, even more so when Wilmott went off.

Think he opted for a quicker player It didn't work Fosu might make a wingback but never a fullback

He inna a full back that’s for certain, and I don’t think he’s a wingback either. Sub for me in one of the wide attacking positions

Yeh it was a strange one, instead of giving Wilmot the help he clearly needed he decided to throw someone else on to get rinsed instead 😂

Really glad we won and the new manager can come in not in a position of crisis. Good day for Stoke.

Think he opted for a quicker player It didn't work Fosu might make a wingback but never a fullback This was clearly the case today, Wilmot was passed with ease in the second half and I assume the thinking was we need fresh legs and more pace back there, but it didn’t work, Fosu isn’t a defender and was caught out in different ways. I like him as a footballer but he seems more of a winger, deputising at wing back is acceptable in the short term but assuming we are going to play wing backs and can’t find a natural backup, I’d like us to bring in a proper full back who can do a job at wing back than to play an attacking player there.

I’d have liked to see Kilkenny come on, but a formation change was probably needed to really fix the problem, and one could argue the case for leaving the strikers on and keeping the 4-3-3, as with pace up front we were always a threat on the break. With Tymon and Clarke out I think we played the best formation we could today, but I really hope we sign a right back before the window closes as it will give us so many more options.

Was crying out for him to be used on the left today of the front three coming on for Gayle.
Hopefully going forward that’s how he will be used.

That right side Blackburn had targeted all afternoon, Diaz had a field day, even more so when Wilmott went off. Stoke changed formation to 3-4-3. Holden briefed Baker and relayed the change at the time. Wilmot was struggling possibly slight injury and Brown also so not much other options.

I think you got it, someone needed to be put on that side to help him out. We've got two rightbacks, Clarke and Edwards, hopefully they'll be back sooner rather than later.

My MOM tonight.
I just wish we’d play him higher up the pitch.

Scared the baby Jesus out them tonight when he came in. Agree he needs to be higher up the pitch, he’s clearly not a defender in any usual sense.
