What a brilliant signing for Ā£100k. Bringing him inside to play centre midfield when his legs started to go slightly was a master stroke. His passing and set pieces were a big reason why we over performed in the 95/96 season and finished fourth.

Gleghorn couldn't run and Wallace couldn't pass. They made up for each other's shortcomings and were brilliant together.

Potter was OK but probably the weak link in the side. (The goalies weren't very good either were they? Prudhoe and Muggleton?)

Another of my favourites
Signing him helped sooth the loss of Bertie and he was worth every penny
Definately thought he played his best for us in the middle in that 95/96 season, surprised we let him go at the end of that season
Happy birthday Foggy

Didn't Gleghorn and Regis sign straight after We'd had a long drawn out saga trying to sign Steve Stone, 50k think it was then Forest got pissed off and pulled the plug last minute after a couple of injuries. What a signing he would have been. He wasn't in the Forest side at the time. Was also a player from Man U, name escapes me, played a few times for them. Want much of a loss . Went on for weeks. I guess with no Twitter etc in those days things weren't so easily leaked etc. Gleghorn was a great player. Had a spell as manager of Nantwich

I had the pleasure of sitting by him at Our FA semi-final. He only left Birmingham because Terry Cooper wanted him out otherwise he would have stayed. A very nice Bloke.

A chap I know played at Nantwich briefly under him. Couldn't speak highly enough. He never quite made it as a player but said great to work under

Met him once in Mācr , he was an intelligent and eloquent bloke - as he later went on to show in his media work. Sort of no nonsense pro that can make any team playing at the level we were tick.

Thankfully we have evolved and now have a variety of players that can neither run nor pass thereby increasing our efficiency. Weāve moved with the times.

The Delap one a bit of a soap opera and a bit of a unique one.

Razer and Gleghorn just worked, didn't it. Lou clearly saw something in bringing Gleghorn inside to compensate for his slowing down.

The club was haemorrhaging money, and the books had to be balanced. Doesn't sound a lot now but we were losing 12-15k a week which had to be covered. Sounds peanuts now I guess but it made say a 50 k purchase pretty impossible without selling a player. Stein to Newcastle for 600 k seemed very tempting I guess but credit to Coates he went against it. Think they signed Cole for 300k from Bristol City in the end.
