Look at Taxhyon’s stats, exactly the analysis clubs use, which show how poor Bursik is relative to other keepers in this division. At no point in his career has he been even an average Championship keeper. His best games have been for League 1 sides which tells a story But he's young and will improve. Future England keeper He is 22 and statistically one of the worst in our division. On no planet does he play for England’s first team

Thank fuck he's not coming here, another slow lump of a centre half with the turning circle of a cruise liner, no thanks. Why we god rid of forester and are after another centre half I'll never know.

We were never getting Clarke We’re shopping in the loan and free transfer market now Expect another loan b4 closure We're only allowed 5 loan players in the match day squad. We already have Clarke, Fosu, Kilkenny, Smallbone & Delap. I can't see us signing another loan player. We will - Clarke will be out for a while then he’ll chop and change who makes the squad

I'm sure if he fails his medical with Boro, we'll snap him up for 3.25m

I think Flint was brought in because Jagielka is only here until Christmas and the Souttar injury He is cover for those 2 not the left side situation It’s pretty obvious that that’s the case, that he’s a short-term stop gap for Souttar and a more physical option for Jagielka, who likely wants to go back to Derby. I’m not sure what better player we could get for a back up, but apparently it should be prime Maldini on a free. There’s so much wrong with this club right now, but bringing in an experienced free transfer as a back up option isn’t going exactly one of them. It's fine bringing in a free transfer as long as they've still got something to offer. Remember Gerry Taggart or Mark Crossley? Flint is way past his best. Prime Maldini on a free? You're just being daft. Surely we bring in better than what we've got. Is Flint any better than Forrester? I think not.

He means Kongolo, who is probably already injured No he’s recovered and trained Oh no wait Yea he’s injured again you were right 😁 Where did you read he was injured? All I could find was that Kongolo played the final two games of the U23 league last season. Then he's gone on to train with us, but I didn't hear he got injured again.

Of all the left footed centre backs available I’d say Yoann Barbet formerly of Brentford and QPR was about the most realistic, still a free agent after rejecting a new deal at QPR at the end of last season I believe. Can play left back in a 4 as well…..

But if Kongolo is fit, then I think he is better than Clarke as he is more mobile and can move the ball from defence better than Clarke.

Bit of a coup for Boro if true. Decent player who you'd think would partner well with their current lot.

If Graham Potter didn't think he could get Clarke somewhere near PL level, I'm pretty sure our current 'manager' couldn't.

Not the most reliable, but Teamtalk claiming the fee could be closer to £3.5m. Interesting to discover if we were actually gazumped and if we were ever in the hunt for him on a permanent deal. You'd think Boro seem to be in a position to outbid anyone in the Champ after their sales www.teamtalk.com/middlesbrough/matt-clarke-transfer-news-brighton-defender-agrees-dealStoke City looked to be in pole position to sign Clarke after talks with Boro broke down. But Chris Wilder’s side moved quickly to get negotiations back on track and the player is now heading north. Clarke is set to undergo a medical at Rockliffe this afternoon with Wilder looking to slot him into a back three with fellow new signing Darragh Lenihan. The Telegraph’s John Percy claimed the fee was £2.25m, but our sources report the deal could hit £3.5m including add-ons.

Shame as he’s decent but you can’t blame him for choosing a club that look a better proposition long term. He didn't choose, Brighton did on who was offering the best deal for them. Stoke probably couldn't match the £2.25million price tag.

Lazy recruitment again. Apparently down to Holden. Flints best days are long gone. Holden would struggle to get a job in a school as a PE teacher from what I have seen and heard. Flint is a poor signing imo, but it's the manager fault for listening to Holden in the first place. I think it was a panic buy in the sense that we thought we might not get anyone else. Hardly panic buy at the stage of the close season we signed him and he wasn't bought and on low wages.

Weird that he's won player of the season 3 out of the last 4 years or something like that, isn't it. What's that got to do with anything? Doesn't stop the fact he turns like a cruise liner and is similar to the shit what we currently have. We need PACE in our back line not more plodders ffs.

Stoke probably couldn't match the £2.25million price tag. Surely if Matt really wanted to come here, he could just refuse Boro meaning that Brighton just stick him in the U23s for the rest of the season or they accept our lower bid in order not to lose him on a free next summer. Maybe Matt himself isn't that fussed where he goes, and let's face it he must know Wilder is a back three specialist who will get the best out of him.

If Kongola completed a pre season trial with us, and yet we still seem to be chasing other targets, it hardly suggests that he is at the forefront of our thinking!
