Literally called a smoke bomb doesn’t quite blow your arm off though, people on here seem to think so though! I think the general consensus isn’t that it’ll blow your arm off, but more that they get incredibly hot and can cause burns, and also that they generate a huge amount of smoke which is at best unpleasant but worst can affect someone’s ability to breathe. If you think that is okay then I’d suggest that you should be kept away from those who don’t want any of those things, or the increased risk associated with such devices.

Serious question for you. If they’re harmless and only a bit of smoke, why do you think they’re banned? Or indeed, why does just a bit of smoke actually create an atmosphere? "This game is typical boring,dross....hang on,there's a bit of red smoke over in that corner. Well that's changed things, now i'm absolutely buzzing, what a day!!" I don't think it's any coincedence that you don't tend to see groups of adults without kids wandering around on bonfire night getting all hyped over sparklers. And why is that? Because the fascination and excitement of "Oooh firey, sparkly, shiny burny thing" tends to be something most grow out of after about the age of 8. Hey, leave sparklers alone!

The atmosphere was dead before they were lit. you 100% didn’t travel to their place! You’d all have hated it, a proper atmosphere in fact the best atmosphere I’ve ever witnessed and must have been thousands of pyrotechnics. I’m sure you’d all of had panic attacks.

No but I remember the impact of the home game and it was pathetic. It seems that you think that pyrotechnics should be allowed and their inclusion should be encouraged. Clearly you’ve never seen someone choke or badly burned. Sadly I’ve seen both and I don’t wish to see it at a football game.

Fuck me sideways, There really is some Fannie’s on here! Presume your grandparents are ok if we all pile round to their house to fill their living room with smoke and force them to sit there inhaling it then,or are they "fannie's" too? If you want to fuck about with fireworks and smokebombs, organise yourself a bonfire with your mates while you're on your school holidays eh? Most people go to a match go so they can, i dunno...watch a match! They don't pay to go there so they can watch a manchild and his mates giggling over all the coloured smoke, thinking they're being "edgy" and "cool" simply because it's the one form of entertainment that your one collective braincell understands.

What makes me laugh is that the lads, who are brave enough (legends in their own lunchbox) for taking the pyro's in, simply light it and launch it well away from them! I mean, WTF?!
They should stand proud with said pyro held aloft above their head, accepting the adulation of everyone around them for what they've done, creating an atmosphere and getting the party going & all that 🥳🙄👏🏻
But oh no, they simply chuck them & giggle thinking they're cool! Scared to get seen possessing one knowing full well what the consequences will be. Aside from knowing that the vast majority of folk stood nearby who are not in their cult would likely be royally pissed off with them aswell! Hero's they really are(nt)!
If brave enough to take one in and light it, at least see the job through and take all the glory that's bound to come your way as a result 🤔🙄

Ok then. Sit them right next to a bonfire so they can get a faceful of smoke and tell them they have to put up with it because a handful of neanderthals who are for some reason still fascinated by fire and smoke want a laugh. After all, it's an outdoor venue with constant airflow. And good that you agree the rest is valid i.e. to call you and those like you out as being a manchild. P.S. i am also aware that neanderthals were actually far more intellectually advanced than they're ushally given credit for. I'd imagine even they would look at a supposedly grown man who is still amazed and entertained by fire in 2022 and think "Seriously...wtf?"

The stuff of nightmares for some folk... Not that I'm condoning the usage of pyros in any capacity but that looks far more impressive than the shit show we have to contend with, at least that's a proper pyro show, people actually holding them to create an atmosphere and some kind of organised effect has the desired effect. Unlike one isolated chav setting one off and launching it into a crowd of unknown folk which is actually pathetic as it smoulders around by people's feet as they try & escape the smog emanating up from the floor!

The big thing about footie is the inclusivity of the sport. Unfortunately there are some who are so wrapped up in themselves that individuals such as yourself who miss out. Hopefully these people either see how selfish and inconsiderate their actions are and change their ways or they are given long banning orders.

Fuck me sideways, There really is some Fannie’s on here! Our FSA caseworker has to spend quite a lot of her time responding to requests from fans, and sometimes the parents of fans, for help when they have been banned by their club for pyro use, and/or, even worse, are facing a criminal conviction and a football banning order, and it's very difficult to argue mitigation. It's not uncommon for fans or their parents to say " he's a good lad really"; "didn't know it was illegal" ; " didn't mean any harm" etc;. Even if you don't accept the inherent selfishness of launching something which is dangerously hot, and can seriously burn fellow fans; causes serious problems for those who have COPD or breathing problems; and makes the clothes of fellow fans stink; then look at it from a self-interest perspective and don't risk a ban, when you won't have any atmosphere at all to criticise.

Malcolm, its a shame you can't just say "We can't help". Last I checked, ignorance of the Law isn't a defence, and as stated elsewhere most (all??) clubs had it in their stadium terms of entry.

They may say they didn't know it was illegal or didn't mean any harm by their actions but the fact in the majority of cases the activator of the pyro launches them well away from where they're stood, knowing full well they'll get thrown out if caught with it kind of implies otherwise. At events such as Grand Prix's where the Verstappen fans display loads of orange pyros they hold high & it generates the atmosphere it does. They're not being chucked around like a hot potato, often falling to the floor & creating a smog that rises from ground level.. Sadly as Malcolm mentions, the selfishness of the perpetrators means that's its always others who'll suffer the after effects of their actions. If they feel the urge & must do it, then hold the pyro proud, & hold it high for maximum effect, be a hero and face the subsequent consequences that'll sure come your way, or better still just don't bother..!
