Until he fucks this wing back system off he’ll have nowhere to hide I think any issues we and the manager have, and also future managers will have, run far deeper than 352. I'm sure they do but that doesn't mean he can't put out a side to play on the front foot or at least create some chances, no ones forcing him to set up as he does.

Noticed this much more recently, got the feeling this is part of the transition of him going upstairs and us ultimately hiring Holden as the manager I certainly hope not. Holden sounds like someone who won the lottery when he got the job as a PE Teacher in a Secondary School.

At the end of last season disappearing before the season ended to get his hip op- conveniently as support turned against him. Now Delap & Holden sent out to do every press interview. Is O’Neil being shielded / protected / hiding from damaging an already factious relationship with the fans? As we head into a new season after 2 years of utter apathy & underwhelm, I can’t help but feel MON should be speaking about his vision, what he feels needs to change for a positive season & how we as a club are moving towards that. Instead it feels like he’s hiding. The club seems precariously placed & honestly would be surprised if he’s still manager come new year. Hope to be proved wrong, but the leadership we need appease nowhere to be seen. Dang! I had no idea the o.g. was into hip hop. Respect bro!

Or we could strike lucky and get a gem who transforms us into a free flowing team.. The tragic thing being that that’s exactly what we did in 2019

Or we could strike lucky and get a gem who transforms us into a free flowing team.. We actively pursue dour managers ones that produce any sort of coherent attacking football are entirely accidental.

To answer the OP, ideally in the departure lounge of Liverpool John Lennon

To answer the OP, ideally in the departure lounge of Liverpool John Lennon Should have happened hours after the final game of last season. Cue another season of slow, boring, low scoring, unsuccessful football.

Watched the game today expecting to see a bit more fight, fitness and an actual plan/idea however you want the phrase it, In reality it was a carbon copy of last season minus the likes of Allen, Smith, Fletcher, Chester. He really needs to go now, no if’s or buts but now for gods sake, the blokes an absolute bell end of a manager and he’ll be hounded out within weeks not months, why wasn’t he sacked at the end of last season heaven knows but once he’s gone the next target has to be junior he’s been at helm and steered us in this direction. Has a manager ever been sacked on the back of a preseason friendly? No but they have been sacked after their sides collapsed from December onwards for two seasons running.

I thought he'd given up by now. Or maybe he's in conflict with the other executive staff about bringing League One football asap to bet365 just to be in a top position fight.

Think this thread is making a mountain out of a mole hill. He’s given numerous interviews throughout the summer and been a presence.
I doubt he’s hiding from post friendly interviews conducted by Stokes media team.
As for the hip operation at the end of last season. It’s quite obvious why it was scheduled then? Surely if it was form related he’d have arranged it around February time? We won 5, drew 1 and lost 3 of the final 9 games.

He's obviously gone on a scouting mission to find a 35 goal a season striker, and won't be back until Friday with him in tow, new kit on!

If it all goes south for MON - and I hope it doesn’t - then we have to have a look at Wayne Rooney. When change comes, hopefully we are in a position to afford him.

Read in the paper nobody wanted Rooney as their manager......one club never replied to his application and that's why he skulked off to the U.S

He does seem to have taken a back seat since his Operation, sadly for us Delap & Holden are about as inspirational as lettuce.

I'm guessing he's deeply tuned into the mess that has been created before him, thanks to messrs Coates Jr., Scholes, Rowett and Jones ... aswell as his own mistakes - meaning he either comes infront of the press/camera and tries to put a lipstick on a pig, or tells the whole truth about the royal mess the club is in. Frankly, if I was in his shoes I would lean heavily on the owners to come out and spell out their vision since it's odds on he will end up leaving sooner rather than later according to some. Perhaps he should concentrate on his own vision before worrying about anyone else’s. Perhaps the club should give him the platform to do that rather than having him do virtually every single job in the building?
