When we should all be looking forward to brighter things next season, yesterday's performance, or lack of one and the general feeling around the club at the moment, is certainly one of apathy & not enthusiasm ☹️

Only the club can change that either by replacing the manager with someone who we can agree (as much as we can agree) is a decent manager That would see enthusiasm return for the new season Or somehow O'Neill proves us all wrong and improves significantly, in this scenario it would be months into the season before supporter enthusiasm returned and even then there would be doubts due to the drop off second half of both of the last two seasons O'Neill would have to rely confound us critics right through next season to get most critics back on board

It’ll be interesting to know the season ticket sales, there was a lot of empty seats yesterday. And not really a good reason for it.

Apathy setting in is the worst of all outcomes and that is exactly where we at at and why the ground is so quiet.
Only the leadership and management can change that now. The support will drift to the usual hardcore until there is a sign of positive change.
Even in January after awful results there was renewed hope only to fizzle out very quickly.
The close season will be defining for the manager as other clubs even despite ffp have shown progression can be made. Let’s see!

It’ll be interesting to know the season ticket sales, there was a lot of empty seats yesterday. And not really a good reason for it. The regulars sat around me in Block 23 all said the same thing at full time yesterday “ thank God this seasons over “ and I can understand that fully. Air of apathy is a great description of Stoke City at present. For example when the Coventry fans were singing loudly yesterday the Stoke fans made no attempt to compete with the racket they were making…this is so unlike Stoke. The last few seasons have totally drained us of hope.

Its a spot on observation and the lack of energy shown by the player is part fot eh clubs DNA and has been for years form the co funeral band to yesterdays organisational embarrassment with Coventry players still on the pitch with 4000k raucous fans destroying the awards we are desperate for leadership in the football side the boardroom and off the pitch and its needs a completer restructure to achieve it

A few of us were speaking of just feeling mentally drained with it all too and that it’ll be nice to have a summer free of football. Just to recharge really. Because this season has been long and tedious and dull.

We need better luck with injuries to key players, to stop wasting the loan signings and some tactical adjustments I don't pretend to understand . Do that and we'll be in the mix.

The two sets if supporters told the story yesterday...
Away end bouncing, a club believing and backing a plan that they can see progressing, giving them hopes and dreams.
The home fans sat on their phones more interested in what the scores were else where and counting down the seconds until the season is over.
It's as depressing as it ever has been at the minute.

MON was brought in to stave off relegation after the disastrous Mad Nathan and Rowett debacles. He achieved this and was then tasked with off loading our players still on premier wages and those signed by Rowett also on high wages. To do this he has brought in youngsters, loanees and older heads in order to reduce our wage bill. It’s been a mixture of success and failures in terms of doing this but has left us with some very mediocre players not helped of course by a string of injuries to key players. So now the slate is relatively clean and I think fans need to get behind him over the close season and hopefully, with some decent signings over the summer and offloading of players not up to what is required, next season could see a step change in performance and us challenging for play offs. Booing individual players on the pitch really isn’t helping. I do recall reading on here after MON was appointed that it would take 4-5 seasons to properly turn things around given the mess we were in. Well we’re 3 seasons in and in my opinion going in the right direction be it slowly.

The comparison between our supporters and Coventry’s after the final whistle showed the scale of our issues.
They are a club looking forwards with enthusiasm while we are decaying towards relegation.

I have watched Stoke for many years, but it is a long time since I felt as pessimistic about our future as I did after yesterday's match. With MON in charge next season we have absolutely no chance of promotion, and there is very little possibility of any entertaining football.

It’ll be interesting to know the season ticket sales, there was a lot of empty seats yesterday. And not really a good reason for it. And not really a good reason for it…… like nothing to play for, previous crap home performances, several players likely to leave and others not really giving a toss, nice weather and people finding other things to do that they my find more enjoyable. That said, I was there ( fuck knows why) but on reflection my time would’ve been better spent on a nice walk, or a day out. What was your really good reason for being there?
