Thought at times he was class, especially in that 92/93 season. Clearly loved the club aswell All about opinions though The only thing Graham Shaw loved was opening time at Wetherspoons

I'd have kept Jones over Crouch so it would be a no brainer to have him now

Southall (younger Everton version though not the lump of **** we got to see) Bardsley Bould Woodgate Pieters Bjarni Kavanagh Nzonzi Bojan Hoekstra Walters Good round up that. Bjarni and Hoekstra were my initial picks aswell, seems as though wingers are easy targets for the boo boys during games as they're flair players who can on their day be outrageously good, or on an off day be nowhere to be seen Pennant, Ince, Creswell (although not sure left winger was ever his natural position) are also examples of players who've had rough times at various stages during their stay with us. Even Arnie used to have a fair amount of grief in his early days with us from the stands

Sammy Irvine ..sadly his best game was just before his near fatal car crash .. lost to the game at just 24 and just starting to fulfil the promise that had seen Durban bring him to Stoke from Durbans previous club Shrewsbury

Even Arnie used to have a fair amount of grief in his early days with us from the stands Flair players just don’t tend to be consistent maybe because the things they try are outrageous and on a slightly off day just don’t come off. I don’t think the game would be worth watching or become a multi billion global industry without them though.

Sidibe used to get loads. Would love him in the team now Used to be someone on here detested him and when he scored was- he couldn't miss that, I would have scored that etc . A bit like Brown with the odd culprit these days.

Can't quite see how that makes me a culprit just means I have a different opinion to you.

A big difference between disliking a player and stubbornly refusing to give them credit when due if you read the above carefully.

Not Harry Burrows that was Don Ratcliffe. Seems likely someone already said that. Just something I heard him say on a few occasions I could easily have got the name wrong. Sadly I can't check with the old boy. It probably was Don Ratcliffe he meant. He was always running down the wing like Roadrunner with very little return for his efforts. Harry Burrows was a cracking player and had the hardest shot I've ever seen from anyone in the red and white stripes. I saw him burst the old nets a couple of times. I'd bring back Huddy playing in front of the back line. All they'd need to do was give him the ball and watch what a real defensive/attacking midfielder looks like. There would be none of this passing the ball across the back line for half the game. Edit. Just realised this thread was also about fans getting on their backs. I never heard Huddy getting any stick. So, to fulfill that part of it, I'd go for Bouldy when he was a kid. I think he scored more own goals than any defender we've ever had. But what a fantastic player he became. OS.

It WAS Don Ratcliffe. When my dad started taking me to Stoke he got season tickets for the Butler St stand. He couldn't afford the centre so had to choose an end. Left wing was Don and right back Bill Asprey. R wing was Stan and LB Tony Allen. Easy choice, though neither Don nor Bill were bad to be fair. Underrated? Both of the poor souls brought in to 'replace' Huddy- Alan Suddick and Paul Richardson.

Was he the same bloke did he leave and come back again?
