Graham Shaw doesnt belong on the same page as those other 3 clowns He was pretty wank still Thought at times he was class, especially in that 92/93 season. Clearly loved the club aswell All about opinions though

Lee Chapman got some stick as I recall. Deservedly I never understood why I was only a kid and he scored regularly Was it because he wasn't John Ritchie? Or because he was a bit of a wanker?

According to my old fella they did. Used to shout for the gates to be opened so he could carry on running. Bit of a head down merchant by the sounds of it. Not Harry Burrows that was Don Ratcliffe.

Seems likely someone already said that. Just something I heard him say on a few occasions I could easily have got the name wrong. Sadly I can't check with the old boy.

Bren converted to centre back but can't remember whether that was in the same team.

I really don't recall him ever having fans on his back. I think he was over appreciated and under appreciated in equal measure in discussions on here for instance but "getting stick" not actually in the ground during a home game at least don't know about away but I doubt it they seem even easier pleased than the home lot.

He used get a lot of stick towards the back end of his time with us. He used get caught in possession way too much and always used blame the other players, that's why.

I don't think he was much of a player for that level but it worked A. Because under Pulis players in his position weren't allowed to be much of a player. B. Under Hughes he normally played alongside N'Zonzi who was exceptional and made up for his weaknesses. We dream of that sort of player now because that type of player has been excluded from the squad altogether when there is obviously a time and a place for them. Even as DM's go he wouldn't be my choice of DM but neither would Kante who's accredited with being the one of the best in the world. I prefer a taller DM who can comfortably drop in and play like a centre half like Rice or Dier. It's all opinion nobody can be proved right or wrong.

Would like to see Wilmot tried there I've said so myself as have others but it very much depends on taste in DM's. It's a moot point because MON doesn't like any sort.

MON's been quite clear he doesn't see a role for that type of physical player. Mikel was once, at one time he was my wet dream of a DM but not the version we got.

But he scored lots of goals We certainly didn't see a decent striker for years after 31 goals in 82 league games in his last two seasons with us, and that was at the top level. Maybe we just had higher expectations in those days.

Also his brother was on our books at the time
