It can't be avoided even though this is a Stoke City forum. The game next weekend is massive and after Tuesday's Champions League games it's all the media will be on about. It really is a proper heavy weight battle and personally i'm looking forward to it as someone who loves football.Over the last 5 seasons both sides form in the league has been amazing, they are both so good and dominant at the moment. This league game almost makes the cup semi a week later look like just another game,by Sunday night though it won't.As a neutral(strictly not true as prefer City) it's great to watch.I'm going to predict a Man City 2-1 win.

I'm also looking forward to it. Man City have a more favourable run in so Liverpool really need to win it.

It makes no difference to my life! Who gives a fuck? Who's saying they give a fuck? It's just a match between two teams. Best in the world. Will be a proper good game of football. Reading v Stoke and Champions League football midweek and then West Brom v Stoke and Man City v Liverpool at the weekend. Good week of football lined up. And watching Stoke will be the shittest.

I don't "give a fuck" about the outcome but it's certainly a couple of weeks of football at the top level I'm looking forward to watching... or aren't I allowed to say that as a Stoke fan?

It’s the fact that they open a thread about something they don’t give a fuck about and then post on it to say they don’t give a fuck about it
Perhaps it’s just me 🤷♂️
Anyway I’ll go for a Liverpool victory at 9/4

Great that going to this stage of the season and one of the biggest games in years.
If some don't care fair enough, you don't have to watch it but millions do care and personally can't wait. Both are fantastic sides and as above says, doesn't guarantee a great game but be fascinating. Am easy on whoever wins the league but doesn't make it any less of a watch .

I really hope that Liverpool win. I wasn’t alive through their dominant spell, so they’ve always been a sleeping giant for me barring some European success. It’d be cool to see them win it again given they’ve spent a fraction of what Man City have in recent years.

I prefer to watch Liverpool play as I find them more exciting and are more direct and “defend” with a very high line which makes them possibly susceptible on the counter making for entertaining games. I can certainly understand why some folk prefer Man City’s football though. It’s just good to see two sides battling it out at the top with contrasting styles.

Growing up in the 70's and 80's it's unfathomable to view it as cool for Liverpool to win things, I don't have a depth of hatred for them like The Shit but prefer it when they don't win They play good stuff of course

I prefer watching Liverpool play - City just bore me for some reason but have several mates who follow City so I suppose I would rather they had the joy. Bottom line is I can’t hope for either club ever to win anything (or any other of the other media darlings for that matter). I am also one of those saddos who is pleased when a foreign team beats them in the Champions League. Can’t help myself.

Hope city win.be unbearable if the Scouse won it all the plastic scousers would be out in force Of the 2 I’d rather City as they’re not quite up to the level of a glory team as Liverpool, Man U or down here Chelsea. That said I’d rather have either win than Chelsea get another trophy from dirty money. I’m surprised no one’s really discussed stripping them of all the trophies they’ve won with all that dirty money.

These kind of games are usually shite, after all the hype. Generally agree when it's games like Man Utd v Liverpool (Red Sunday! SKY used to call it!). They've built so games up that have turned out being bore fests. Maybe this fixture a few years ago aswell but just don't see Man City v Liverpool this weekend being a boring match.. Both teams are quality, clearly the best of the best these days & whilst slightly differing styles I'm sure both will be fired up for this meet up and will be a spectacle.

Game of the season for premiership.
Its been building up to this for weeks. Massive game for both clubs, should be a great game for the neutrals.
Couldn't give a toss about either side but I fancy Liverpool to edge this one.

I’d have definitely watched this years ago, but these days if it’s not Stoke I don’t bother, aside from when England are in a tournament. For some reason I just don’t enjoy* watching non-Stoke games any more.
*not saying that I do enjoy most Stoke games, before some smart-arse pipes up 🙂

Guardiola often overthinks these biggest games. I predict a draw or Liverpool win. Although I don't take much interest in the Premier League since Stoke were relegated, it'd be fun to see the title go down to the wire.
Spurs vs Arsenal coming up could help decide a Champions League place for one or the other too. Amazing that many were questioning Arteta's future at Arsenal earlier in the season.
