He left nearly 10 years ago. When you look at the teams that have had managers for a very long period in the Premier: Man Utd, Arsenal, Everton, all have struggled to replace them when they left and no one that’s come in has raised their lot since.

Definitely a tough gig and again I think that's why the sporting director/director of football model is one clubs are increasingly turning to.

Seems a bit early to be writing him off. He's done ok in the home games and poor in the away games. But it needs a big turnaround there.
Benitez decimated them. Their fans have been in a slump for a good 15 years it feels. They were always miserable when we were in the Prem. They're being caught up in the whole thing about Russian money etc.
Defensively they haven't got the players that are to standard. Pickford is poor and not what you need in a relegation battle, Keane needs an experienced by him despite the fact that should be him now, Kenny is useless, Mina is clumsy, Coleman's legs have gone etc. And that's where they will struggle.

They are the worst team in the league away from home, and last night shows you why, Spurs sat off them to allow space for the quick counter attack and Everton with their high line paid the price.

I didn't watch. Sounds really daft playing a high line away against Spurs. Just sit and hope to nick a point. 11 men behind the ball. It's not pretty but better than that when you're in their predicament.

Which is why nobody on here takes you seriously Oh they do!!!! I predicted this would happen months ago, a lot didn’t take me serious then but they sure do now. O’Neill OUT!!!!! I've yet to see anyone say Duckers was right and I take him so seriously to be fair. You've moaned about everything including us not being able to afford a new kit designer. Remind us how that went. Because you don't like the manager and moaned about him and he's having a bad spell doesn't make you a wise old sage. In fact some actual sage would speak more sense at times.

He got Derby from 6th to 6th you know He got them to the play-off final. He managed Chelsea to a CL spot despite a transfer embargo. Everton is a tough gig and might be beyond him, but it was more experienced managers, including 2 CL winners.

Ronald Koeman and lots of investment was supposed to be the new Everton reborn & ready to compete era. That went disasterously wrong very quickly as has every appointment they've made since.
As others have alluded to, what's happened there is similar to what happened with us when we fell away but on a far bigger scale due to Evertons football standing. Lampard has never been tried and tested in a relegation scrap, as a player or manager and it does take a certain character to be able to do this, Lampard was never appointed on his managerial experience and was always going to be a big name appointment with a big gamble attached to it. We all know & have seen when managers down tools & don't want to dig deep in the trenches what the results will be.
Think even Big Sam would struggle to get a tune out of the lacklustre squad that's currently there.

Looking at the remaining fixtures it looks really tough for Everton
back to back home games v Wolves & Newcastle > which tbh can't see them winning < then a run of games you'd expect them to lose before penultimate game v Brentford & last one away at Arsenal honestly think they are toast

Everton are in bigger trouble than they realised. With hindsight, I don't think they would've appointed Lampard, but how long will they stick with him?
Hodgson or Pulis would've been the safest options to keep them up it seems.

They've had a couple and they've both been disastrous unfortunately for them, a big part of the problem. No structure is foolproof. For clubs our size though there are plenty of examples of where it's worked really well.

Spent absolute fortunes on rubbish and gave that rubbish big wages and long contracts in the process so they are left with a bloated squad of players no-one, including Everton want. 30m on Iwobi 50m on Richarlson 48m on Sigurdsson 25m on Pickford 30m on Allan 27m on Mina 20m on Godfrey Absolutely nuts and there are probably more. Somehow they need to survive and attempt to rebuild. I hope they do. My son is part of the Everton academy. It would be disastrous if they got relegated.

Everton seems to be s graveyard for good players and no manager raises their profile there. Moyes Yep probably an exception and maybe the first since Kendall but a while since he moved on as mentioned above. The kind of club where a good player goes there then months later you see them on TV and forget he was there....for me anyway
