To be expected if im honest they are about to lose the one bloke who spent over a billion pounds to bring them the most successful period in their history. As distasteful as that maybe he's only done Chelsea good and they are worried for their future.

I understand that but fans are selfish and don't care when the club is at risk.

just shows what an impact sport / monety has on politics and how it can override morals. You only have to look at the world cup to see that. Very poor on their part.

What is actually wrong with Abramovich?
Even if he is sleeping with Mr Putin and doesn't mind watching innocent women and children blown to smithereens why won't he at least come out and say 'shelling Europe's largest nuclear power plant is criminal insanity' ?
I can't work out if he is just on board with it all or if he fears he will be next for some novichok in his tea, any thoughts?

Perhaps he realizes that he has earned a lot of money because of Putin and if he comes out against him now, he’ll still get a lot of sanctions and then he’ll have no chance of getting it back.

Abramovich was raised by his grandparents who were both Ukrainians so I doubt he's on board with it all. He's also a long time friend and supporter of Putin so I guess he must be conflicted.

Doing it during the support for Ukraine makes a specific point. That point being that they don't give a fuck about the Ukrainians.

Usually managers stay neutral where fans opinion is concerned but this obviously doesn’t reflect well on the fans.

Isn’t this the same clubs fans which stopped a black bloke from getting on a train?! I wouldn’t expect anything else. There's always been a serious undercurrent of racism at Chelsea. The head hunters still use the Nazi SS death skull on their flags and in social media bio's (sadly, it's seems to be getting more widespread). I know they 'pre-date' Abramovich, but it's got to be confusing for them to understand the hypocrisy of their abhorrent views and being funded by a Jewish Russian guy.

A little off topic the Chelsea fans here but not all this is right surly, I just saw that a F1 side have sacked there driver basically because he is Russian, I t spears that simply being Russian is now a crime, and that’s dangerous we are now saying it’s ok to judge someone on something a simple of nationality and if so where do we draw the line. I have known a Russian girl for a long time and she has always been a very kind and generous person, that hasn’t changed.
What I am trying to say is we know what Putin is doing is horrendous but you can’t judge everyone the same we can’t ignore the Russians who have gone out and protested against the war, that is a very dangerous thing to do in a country like Russia,
I hope this reads as I intend it to I just want to know other peoples views and feelings on this

I understood that part of the problem was that his dad is a Russian billionaire whose Russian company sponsors the Haas team. His dad's company had to be removed as a sponsor and sanctioned as part of the EU, UK and American Sanctions against Russia. That left the son and Haas in an almost impossible position as regards him working for the team.

He was also a really shit racer, only getting the job thanks to his dad, him going will have probably done the team a favour as Giovinazzi looks like the one replacing him.

That wasn’t reported when I saw it which again is another danger only getting half a story, even so the result is he has been removed and if it wasn’t for the war he wouldn’t have, if he and haas had parted ways mutually then fair enough but at the end of the day if he wasn’t Russian it wouldn’t have been an Issue

I don't necessarily have an issue with their relationship with Abramovich, there is a time to celebrate it perhaps. Its just they chose to express it in the moment they did, as if this man, and their relationship with him is more important than the deaths of thousands of innocent Ukrainians. It was supposed to be just 1 minute dedicated to showing support for them and they consciously decided to hijack it on the public stage. Staggering!

Are you suggesting that the invasion of the second largest country in Europe with a population of 40 million which, in the past week, has led to 1.5 million refugees heading into the rest of Europe, and which will lead to damage to all the European economies and a humanitarian disaster, is simply a case of "political shit?" Really?

I suspect he wanted to be a F1 driver so daddy sponsored a team on condition his son got to drive.
