Pretty reasonable TBH. Some graciousness and humility when talking about the crowd ("They've had a tough time...I didn't help with that") and he's right in what he says. We are a demanding crowd relative to this level; but I don't think unreasonably so and I don't think the aggregate performances since relegation have come even close to satisfying our totally reasonable demands. Interesting point of view mate For me, our expectation is part of the problem and I think every manager that has been here since we were relegated has felt that. There is a lot of pressure on managers who come here due to our financial backing and supporter expectation. We didnt expect anything under Pulis which is why we were so vocal and delighted to be in the Premier League. I don't know how this ends but I hope we don't do a Sunderland , who are a similar club. We need someone who can come in and just start it all again. Jones tried to do that but the players didnt cotton on to his energy probably for the reasons he says in his interview , they were lazy and just turned up without a fire in their bellies. That's what Hughes installed unfortunately I wish Nathan all the very best. He speak from the heart which is rare nowadays. What do you think our expectation is though? To have been organised enough to ensure that we had a good go at returning to the PL first time around?? Failing that, an expectation that we'd learn from that first season, galvanise, and then have another go? To put ourselves in a position where our managerial recruitment was well-researched, and managed properly at the top-level (eg - control the spending)? To be better than 16th, 16th, 15th, 14th? Just let that one sink for a minute. I don't think it's unreasonable to expect any better than all of that.

Wish O'Neil would fire his players up like that, and get in the oppositions faces!!! Jones failed miserably v us 3 times previously. 3 losses, no goals. Let's not make out he has something special to fire players up No no, I'm not making out Jones is someone special..... I just wish O'Neil would do that PERIOD, not just because Luton did it to us!!! If Luton were doing it to us, I'd loved to have seen him rally our players up and get back in their faces..... But there was just nothing, he just stands there with his hands in his pockets, and it's THAT, that rags me up more than anything!!!

Just let that one sink for a minute. I don't think it's unreasonable to expect any better than all of that. With the players we had available and the attitude / ethos at the time, a return to the Premier at the first go was a big ask. I agree with you we could have learned a lot more in the first season - but again the same ethos existed which made it just as hard as the first season. And the recruitment is suspect as well - Ive never understood our hell bent pursuit of Rowett who is proving himself to be an average Championship Manager. But then again finding a good manager and a good fit is very hard. We thought we had with our current manager but it looks like it might be fading a bit now after yearly improvements. I would say that the league positions are a reflection of where the club is at the moment - with our backing we should maybe expect to do better and at least put in a proper challenge for the playoffs. However I do think that weighs down on the players and staff alike which is the crux of my point ... We are a different club now to who we were before promotion to the premier and getting back to the Premier would be a good day but not the overwhelming amazing achievement it was back in 2008. There was no expectation then only complete backing which is I think where clubs like Luton are. I hope I am wrong and next season it all just clicks.
