Which if so is why I think it's such a crap deal. If we couldn't get rid of Ince without essentially paying £35k a week for a defender of dubious quality we should have kept him. We desperately needed a Left sided CB or full on LB. Since Forrester has gone nowhere we have all the cover we need. We had options on younger cheaper players including the lad from Arsenal. Let's hope we don't consider Moore after June for a proper contract. what if he's any good? We had almost the entire EFL and PL U23s to choose from at those wages though eh?

No different and quite possibly less than Inces wages If he's no good we don't pursue a deal if he is then we don't have to offer what he's on now if he's out of contract The key bit being if he is any good Let's see how he does

he`s just what you need in a relegation dog fight. Big pitch at Reading, plenty of hidy holes.

Like it or not he played well since coming back into the team, he was one of our best attacking players over recent weeks before he went.

I'm not suggesting he was a world beater, far from, just that he was in a bit of form and if he carries it on will do well for them.

Due to a lack of fluids brought about by them having to be handed to him "on a plate", Tom finds it particularly difficult to squeeze out one last excuse.

Wonder if it was the Arsenal kiddie that failed the medical prompting the last minute Moore-Ince swap to be resurrected? www.stokesentinel.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/stoke-city-transfer-news-deadline-6603926“We’re very happy with the business we did. The only one we were very close to doing another player from the Premier League but unfortunately there was a little injury involved there so that fell through. “We were able to resurrect a move for Liam Moore in a swap for Tom Ince right at the end in a swap deal.

We tried a couple loans with Liverpool, with Stoke. We've been very creative and active but this was the best we could do. We're going to look in the free agent market. We need to bring somebody who's ready now" Wonder why we were more keen to shift Ince than Chester if he was the man Reading preferred? Just to make the salaries match for Moore? Reading fans seem a bit confused about Ince's arrival and where he'll fit with a defender much more of a priority www.stokesentinel.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/stoke-reading-transfer-ince-moore-6586927“It had been bubbling for a couple of weeks. I spoke directly with the manager of Reading and there were one or two players in our team who he was interested in and he offered some of his players. “Reading, because of their transfer embargo, aren’t in a position to sign players so what they have to do is basically swap players. “For that to work you basically need two players in a similar situation. Thomas was in the last six months of his contract. Liam is a bit different, he has another year after that at Reading but the relationship there has taken a little bit of a downturn.

Wonder if we only settled on Moore very late on after Rekik failed his medical?
And so it was only at that point that we switched to Moore, meaning it was Ince we wanted to shift to balance the salary dump with Liam Moore's?
Maybe another Reading player could've been possible before that?

The Athletic said he got as far as travelling up to Stoke for a medical - so seems a safe-ish bet? Do we know Rekik failed a medical??. “We’re very happy with the business we did. if we had half a sniff of getting rid of Chester, then FM*, why on earth didn't we grab it with both hands?
