What’s Moores ability on the ball like? he played first game of the season when we played reading.. he scored.. didn’t see much of his ball ability.. but he seemed quite quick for a centre back

I think we've recently had a change of plan of how we want to play. How many times did we see our centre backs hoofing it up the pitch to fletcher and Co before? Now it's as if they're going get a two week fine if they don't pass it. Gerrard also pointing out he liked the way we are looking to play. We're a Bit like man City but with big knickers on instead of a thong 😁 your not getting out of this league passing out from the back.. too many teams will press and force mistakes like the Coventry game.. pressing like Fulham.. Norwich.. Leeds.. etc.. gets you out of this division.. god knows where mons gets this passing out from the back is successful in the championship that would be a good question for Ange.. ask mon what teams have been successful getting promotion from passing out from the back

Haven’t Reading got an awful defensive record? Ince’s game time was always going to be even more limited with signings and players coming back so can see it’s a good move for him but for us? Dunno. Reading have played a blinder, Ince is bang in form and playing for his next contract, he could be the difference they need to keep them up in the form he is showing. The bit that gets me is why would a relegation threatened side send out a good defender? Did they replace Moore with anybody? I don't think i'd like to be relying on Ince in a relegation battle. He's been M.I.A for 3 years.

The loss of Souttar has made it a totally different ball game in my opinion regarding centre backs Is he out all season? ..and some of next wouldn't be surprising

He's been M.I.A for 3 years. Couldn't agree more about his contributions for a few years but the last few weeks he's looked Premier League class, I'd have probably kept him here for the remainder of the season and let him go in summer. In that form he's an asset to anyone in the division wether they're after promotion or scrapping at the bottom. He's out to impress for the remainder of the season to land his last decent contract, shit it takes that for him to up his game but that's how it is, he must not like the sport but likes the money. Phill&jean looks a player though to be fair, you just know with some players they are going to be a top fight regular, he is definitely one of them, when he adds an end product with games he'll be lethal, comes across as a bit greedy in possession but that's the confidence in him. No chance we're signing him in the summer with or without a decent wedge to spend from a Souttar sale

Lets not be silly, he's a full back and if MON is willing to play Chester there instead then not really a great option on the left of a three. In an ideal world you'd hope they could slot in but that isn't how it works, we've seen that ourselves this season. Not really - he's chosen to play Chester there for most of it. We can't rule out right-footers with ability based on his performances. Didn't Willmot have a go there too, no one's looked comfortable there so far. We shouldn't have to be shoe horning someone in there, given how active we've been it should have been high on the list along with wingback/fullback cover. We'll soon find out I guess.

Thought he had a year left on his contract? So did I mate🤔 Doesn't seem to be much of an expectation he'll return, one way or another.... Suppose it depends on how the next few months go whether it'll be here or elsewhere? www.getreading.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/reading-fc-live-qa-fans-22944623Charlie Baldwin asks: "What's the chance Liam Moore returning next season to play under a new manager? Is it true that he moved back to the Leicester area last summer? If so, I can't see it happening. Do you think we will ever get the WHOLE truth, or do you know it already?"
I would say very remote. I can't see him playing for Reading again. I know he moved back to the Leicester area in lockdown but he does have a house in this area so I imagine he still has that for the time being. We probably won't get the whole truth but I'm sure he'll come out with his version of events at some stage. From what I know, he approached the club saying he would consider leaving to help out financially as he knows/knew he is a big earner. But at no point did he refuse to play for the club or say he was not committed. It did appear like he was hung out to dry by the owner with that statement. Kieron says: "I am happy to see Liam Moore leave. Ever since he joined the club I think there have been more poor performances than good. Overly over rated. Not a good captain either when things are going bad.
Quite a few things to tackle here. Firstly on Moore, he certainly divides opinion among supporters. For what it's worth, I think overall he has been a decent player for Reading and when he is on form, he has been brilliant and produced some superb performances. On the flip side, he has had some shockers too and I'm sure he will admit that too. In terms of his captaincy, I haven't been too impressed with him and the seemingly weak mentality of the squad as a whole must partly rest on his shoulders.

He's a leader, and with Jags too, as well as Allen and Baker, you'd hope we might be more vocal as a team.

Reading local journo seems to give credence to the rumours he's on a colossal wage. How on earth were Reading throwing around those kind of wages? www.stokesentinel.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/reading-stoke-transfer-liam-moore-6595330His wages - reportedly around £35k a week - are symbolic of how the club has gone off the rails and has been paying players way over the odds. That has culminated in a transfer embargo, a points deduction and some very real fears about the future of the club.

That has culminated in a transfer embargo, a points deduction and some very real fears about the future of the club. I can remember a massive article on the dire state of football finances, maybe in The Athletic, that started with some details on Reading. They had just finished down near the bottom but had actually got something crazy like the third highest wage bill in the league. Were FFP sanctions not also looming?

I wonder what % of his wages we're taking on? I would imagine it's the same relative amount that Reading are taking on for the benefit of having Ince with them. In other words Moore costs us an extre £3.

I wonder what % of his wages we're taking on? Isn't it just a player swap so we carry on paying Ince's wages and they carry on paying Moore's wages until end of the season. Both on high wages, they wanted rid of Moore and we thought he'd be more useful to the squad than Ince.

If we couldn't get rid of Ince without essentially paying £35k a week for a defender of dubious quality we should have kept him. We desperately needed a Left sided CB or full on LB. Since Forrester has gone nowhere we have all the cover we need. We had options on younger cheaper players including the lad from Arsenal. Let's hope we don't consider Moore after June for a proper contract.

So I contacted with my only Reading season ticket holder mate yesterday.
He reckons Moore has consistently been their best player for the last 3-4 seasons. I remembered he's mentioned him before too.
But Moore just got fed up with the Reading situation and got kicked out of the team for telling them he wanted out. Apparently alot of Reading fans don't really blame as they consider he's done his bit to help keep them afloat.
He says fair game to him as Reading are a bit of a sinking ship at the moment.
So let's see what he does on the pitch before making our judgements!
