£250,000 should do it. Out of contract with no offer on the table seemingly just get rid........

Get rid.
Distinctly average goalkeeper.

Be interesting where we would look if he were to leave, would we look at an older keeper to come in and be no.2/3?
Bursik is obviously first choice and due back in Feb?
Would we just persist with Bonham and Blondy until then, knowing we'd be able to sign an emergency should anything happen to Bonham in the meantime?

Injuries aside, it wouldn't bother me too much.
Never really been a fan.
Especially if we could do something special with any fee we'd get in the January sales.

Was watching Sky the other day and Keane mentioned a good window is often not who you sign but who you get rid of.
We're certainly changing things around.
Would be interested to know what is manager led here and what is being forced financially. At a guess I'd say all arrivals and exits are very much manager led so far and are predominantly football decisions.

Chickens / counting / etc Even still I think it's cemented what I believed- MON does not rate Davies and Batth. That alone is good.

I like Davies, good keeper at this level
right now wouldn't say Bursik or Davies are better than each other Bonham has pit in two good performances
however: Bursik is only going to get better & potentially massively better
suspect O'Neill will want 3 senior keepers on the books though (inc Bursik)

Agree 100%. Getting wages off the books half a season earlier than having to wait for the summer. Starting to build a very competitive squad for next season if we get Souttar, Campbell and Powell all firing Ideally joined this window by TOB, probably Edwards unless he will play him, and one or two midfielders out of Allen, Clucas, Thompson. I would also consider a loan for Surridge, can't see him playing ahead of Fletcher, Brown, Campbell, DWP and maybe Sima and selling him would not be a good outcome for FFP. Ince is on the list but I would be tempted to see if he can earn a slot in his new midfield role as he could be a great option there with Baker and Powell.

Why where’s Joe Allen going? You were all for getting rid of Thompson but I’d far rather he stayed and Allen went.

Think the board will be doing their damnest to keep all the decisions as footballing ones for now - within obvious parameters of course that MoN seems to understand well.
Mind you, Surridge was a "footballing decision" wasn't he?

Was on the cards he's leaving it seemed but hope doesn't leave Bursik as first choice in the long run . Not a fan and gets beaten down at his post way too easily for me. Hope Bonham turns out to be a bit good

I’d hazard a guess Thommo is pretty decent value for money and a perfectly adequate squad player. The other well, just isn’t.

Bursik must be closer to fitness than we thought. I can’t see us leaving Bonham as the only fit senior goalkeeper. Two decent games but I’m sure many will be calling for his head if he makes a mistake versus Fulham.

He’s kept two clean sheets and he was reasonably well liked at Gillingham. We will see how he keeps his nerve when under the cosh.

I see some of the best in the World at Liverpool, Man City & Utd, the expensive one at Chelsea who’s not even No1 anymore and they drop howlers fairly often. Who are these keepers that don’t make mistakes?

Why where’s Joe Allen going? You were all for getting rid of Thompson but I’d far rather he stayed and Allen went. You're crackers. Don't you watch how he plays? He ran the midfield against Hull. I know, you'll say that they are a poor side, but watch his movement. How many interceptions he makes, how many clearances he makes, how many through passes he plays. He's like Whelan, in that you won't know what you've lost, until he's gone. Whelan was criticised all the time, the same as Joe.

Would be a little bit bold to go in with Bonham as No.1 with Blondy as back-up, assuming Bursik is a few weeks off

I said that his contribution/play was, like Whelan's, criticised.
