Absolutely no harm in having the lad on the bench IMO.
What amazes me is Clucas will be involved today in some form, the blokes a master of disguise but MON saw fit to give him a two year extension, piss take of the highest order.

Rooney was 16. It worked out well for him Exactly if you’re good enough then why not , he can’t be any worse than Brown Well, he could be, if he’s out of his depth. He hasn’t really yet made the step up to u23 - so chucking him into first team when he’s not ready could mean that he would be worse than Brown (odd comparison as he’s been ok for us). I think we can say that we have a manager that is very astute and excelled at blooding in youngsters, I’m sure MoN and the coaching team are best placed to know when he’s ready.

Totally different positions, and we have a negative number of central midfielders available to play at the moment. He offered Clucas away on a free, no one wanted him, without him gone, we had no wiggle room to sign anyone else, he signed on a reduced contract, allowing us more to manoeuvre in other positions. Think you’ll need to grab one of those other sticks to bash MoN with rather than him ‘not’ playing Tezgel - which was tenuous at best

Rooney was 16. It worked out well for him Agreed, and there will be others, BUT there will be far more. scattered around the lower leagues, for whom it was not the wisest move. I have no idea what the 'wastage' rate is among the youngest players. By 'wastage', I don't want to imply they haven't got a career just that there could be a large number of promising youngsters whose future was blighted by promotion too early. Just a thought?

Peter Bullock has held that record for more than 60 years, aged 16 years, five months and two days old when he made his debut against Swansea in April 1958.
Tezgel is younger than that by 41 days - and the England youth striker is on the bench today after impressing Michael O'Neill in training - when he has been on day release from Painsley Catholic College.

If Ty had crossed at the end he was waiting for a tap in

Yeah didn’t touch it but was in an excellent position for Campbell’s goal if the keeper saved it or Campbell wanted to pass. He would have had a tap in.

Don’t think he touched it. Came on late (85?) when we were defending. Didn’t really get the ball near him. Shame he didn’t get a touch but the experience will still be a really important one for him. It’s a sign of intent from MON if ever there was one, bringing on a 16 year old when the game was far from out of sight.

Good movement, weirdly some of the players didnt pass him the ball when he was clearly offering for it and in a good space. As mentioned by another poster don't think he touched it.

I can’t imagine Tezgel will have a major impact on our league position this year, but an in-form Campbell will. He needs to be scoring goals regularly and not second guessing what’s best.

If he has half the career Peter Bullock did, then…ah, hold on 🤔

Despite Campbell's overall lack of impact since his return, he's still got 3 goals and all pretty good ones at that.

I wanted him to square it at the time and never thought of your angle on it, but it's a fair point. It was a really tidy finish as well 👍

Just sheer pride to see a local lad making his debut at the age of 16. I haven't stopped smiling.
Can't wait to see him develop in the future.
Gooaarrn lad.

im made up for the lad, at 16 i was in to fucking anything like literally anything the fat cow that was picked on, the 45 yo milf, or even the hoover, but to have worked hard and actually play for england in a year above his pay grade, made his first appearance for a championship team, and not even sat his GCSEs, he has already done more than A LOT of people on this message board. WELL DON TEZ.

I'm convinced he got a touch. Not far up the fiel and back to goal but handled it tidily and laid it off. Thrilled he got on and he looked so happy for Tyrese.
