I guess time will tell as to why someone set out with the intention to blow up those remembering the brave that gave their lives fighting for their country yesterday.
Itâs truely sickening having attended a ceremony myself seeing the young and old present united together to remember those that paid the ultimate price that someone would want to target people like them.
Whoever was in that taxi intended to kill on mass.
It makes me sick and Iâll be very interested to see why someone can want to carry out mass killings on the innocent. What makes me even more angry is that thereâll be people trying to justify it.

Be interested to see the outcome of the investigation into this. Just re enforces the fact that we will be living with terrorism for evermore and that it is the general public who on occasions are the ones stepping up and preventing carnage. Terrorists are amongst our communities sadly, when the time comesâŚcould you step up?

It won't be the IRA, they've never bombed Liverpool Wrong ..another urban myth You might want to delete your post ..or better still educate yourself .. A pub I use to to drink in in town at the time was taken out , suffered bomb damage when they bombed the council offices further down the road ..fortunately the bomb was in the early hours , there was also a campaign in 1939

Birmingham had a large Irish population back then too, and it never stopped the IRA blowing things up and killing people there either.

the timing of the attack is clearly re remembrance Sunday the target of the attack appears random though ? I'd heard a theory that the remembrance parade was the target which is about 5 mins from the hospital. Taxi couldn't reach because of traffic and road closures so last minute decision by passenger to request hospital - possibly because the device was going to set off and a panic decision. Clearly enough for the driver to work out what was happening.

That appears to be the story from the driver of the taxi and thank goodness for the road closures and the bravery of the taxi driver to lock the scumbag in with his bomb and not allow him into the hospital. I hope the driver gets awarded the George Cross.

The Manchester, London and Birmingham attacks seemed to receive far more coverage than anything that happened in Liverpool- and I am aware there's a sectarian past on Merseyside (there's a film called No Surrender about it that I vaguely remember). Perhaps you could have said that initially without the attitude problem though? Makes it more of a surprise that the previous Shadow Chancellor- and Liverpool native- John McDonnell has an IRA plaque in his study, if his own city has been targeted.... Incidentally, would you say Everton are more the Protestant club? They seem to have had a few links to Rangers down the years, whereas Liverpool seem closer linked to Celtic.

I hope the driver gets awarded the George Cross. Agreed, his actions are deserving of the George CrossâŚheâs potentially saved many lives. When you consider what awards do get given out, it should be the least he deserves. I note there was a crowd funding to replace his taxi which should buy him a very nice replacement. I hope he and his family have the very best of Christmas time in recognition of his actions. Iâm sure he would have much preferred not to have endured this, but I hope he is seen to be comfortable. The other good thing is that a wannabe, murdering piece of scum got exactly what they deserved and we wonât have to look after them in the future. May they rot in hell forever.

Having seen the footage, I suspect that might be the case. I can't imagine you'd normally get to walk away with minor injuries if a suicide bomber detonated while sat next to you. Glad he survived and helped to avoid a tragedy.
