Nobody noticed the poppy shirts today and apologised to the club for last week's rant? Or do they think Stoke are only wearing them because of the criticism on here?

Funny what is classed as a "rant". Also, in answer to those asking if anyone had contacted the club or representatives instead of posting on here, I did on Saturday evening and got a fast response from the supporters council who replied with:
"The players will be wearing poppy shirts in upcoming matches."
Fair enough, but I still stand by my original point that if we didn't have a minutes silence and opportunity to remember collectively at the ground, then it's an embarrassing oversight.
It was observed at Sudbury Town (8th tier) last night and Old Trafford today and from what I can tell everywhere in between, either last weekend or midweek.
For all the fallout we've had at this time of the year over the past few seasons, I'd have thought we would have got it right and in my opinion, we haven't.

Shock and horror. Supporters want the club to continue the tradition of paying respect for those brave souls who gave their lives for us.
Some of these comments on here are truly embarrassing. What have we come to when people are mocked for wanting to remember the dead.

What have we come to when people are mocked for wanting to remember the dead.I think the biggest problem was that this was a thread where the OP assumed (for no good reason) that the club would not be playing in poppy shirts this year. We wore poppies on our shirts for today's game - the game we had before Remembrance weekend - and no doubt they will be auctioned off as usual. So we had a lot of knicker wetting for no very good reason. We may even get to see poppies on the shirts for the next home match. OK, if it happens it will be after Remembrance Sunday but anyone who wants to go to a Remembrance Sunday service can still do so - as I will be doing.

The original post, which is still there stated..."no remembrance tribute as this was our last home game...". I know the poppy shirts will raise money like they have in the past, a fantastic way of raising funds. I also knew the club would wear them today. However, as some have stated and is fact, the club have failed to organise a suitable moment of silence for Stoke City fans to show their appreciation and respect collectively for those former players, supporters and every other hero alike who made the ultimate sacrifice. I'm not disputing the fact that there are other ways to pay respect and by the way, that's next Sunday, not tomorrow. The fact is that the type of tribute that has taken place every season for as long as I remember and has taken place at other clubs the length and breadth of the country appears to have been overlooked and can't be defended.

Just as well after today’s surrender. It would be embarrassing to have our armed service men and women, past and present, on the same pitch as that spineless shower today. Christ, embarrassing.

Discussing to see the club hasn't bothered with remembrance tribute this was our last home game before remembrance Day well done Stoke disgrace To all who have lost their lives fighting for our great country Lest we forget 🏵️ It's on the 20th against Peterborough so no the club isn't a disgrace. Where was it mate, think I missed it?

Stoke having it a different day a huge cause of that of course. I'll take your ignorance and raise you stupidity. You still haven't explained how you know wht many people want. Like I said, made it up. Was today the 'different day'?

James McClean likes this thread ☝🏻 🙄😬😬😉🤣
Do find it very strange nothing was done at the Cardiff game, other clubs did things that weekend. I'm guessing someone at the club overlooked it & got dates/fixtures misjudged. Never known Stoke not commemorate it in some form at a home match

Very disappointed that the club haven't honoured those brave souls on a matchday this year.
If they knew they weren't going to do anything for today, why not do something on the Cardiff game.
Piss poor.

They forgot to do it for the Cardiff game.
Some of the self appointed oatcake know-alls were telling us to wait until today as it was part of the 'plan'.... hmmm, I must have missed it.

It's just unfortunately timed, I'm sure it's inappropriate to do it in October too. If we had a home game on Remembrance weekend or even either side I'm sure the club would have.

I'd disagree with that if you knew that you had no opportunity to do it until after the remberance weekend.

Like I said, made it up. And, by having it later the club is potentially boosting the income. There will be very few if any donation points after the Remeberance Sunday and therefore by doing it later it gives another opportunity for donations to be made on the day at points around the ground. Some (not many though) might even say this is a good thing. Donations today, boosting income, a good thing? I think not.

Too not remember and honour former supporters, players and staff who have made the supreme sacrifice by giving their life for our freedom is the lowest this club has fallen, and my god we’ve had some lows ! Is this the sign of the new chairmanship, no remembrance service for the home supporters to show just one minutes appreciation, and a complete balls up in today’s program about one of our players Paul Ware, who scored at its time one of the most important goals in the clubs inglorious history, and was lost at a tragically young age. You earn respect and are not just given it, just ask your father John, it took him years to gain the Coates family the respect of Stoke fans, you could throw all that away in a matter of months.

I paid my respects at the Cenotaph last Sunday, I would have happily done it again today but not the end of the world. I’d quite happily go back to the act of remembrance being on the anniversary itself and/or Remembrance Sunday like it used to be before it became an industry like Halloween or something……

I take it you didn't wear a poppy, or contribute to the RBL, following your previous criticism of them? The point of this thread is that many feel that the Club should have commemorated on the day of the Cardiff match, like many other Clubs did on that day. A bugler playing to an empty Stadium on 11th was a fairly poor show. To compare Remembrance Day to Halloween (or something) is quite frankly, beyond laughable
