Remember a few years ago hearing Dead Or Alive on the radio with You Spin Me Right Round (Like a Record) and commenting that when my nieces reached teenage years they might hear that and not have a bloody clue what a 'record' that 'spins' actually was. Lo and behold thanks to the vinyl revival at 18 and 16 they've got 'record' collections to rival mine and a turntable on which to 'spin' them.

Recall having the Lone Ranger action figure one Xmas and my brother had his horse, Silver was it??
Bit shitty on my brother, it caused loads of arguments I recall as we’d both want the two together but wouldn’t share.
Another year we had a Hornby train set, flying scots man, can’t recall opening it (boring) positive my old man got it for himself as he never stopped messing with it.

The milkmen. We had two in our street. A three wheeler thing think that was Clover Dairies and his rival the Co-op . Remember my mum having milk tokens lined up on a shelf next to my dad's football pools coupon which was collected on a Friday night.

I think Luxembourg was 208 from memory. I used to listen to it every night until nearly midnight with the volume really low so my parents wouldn't hear it. Great times !

Playing football on Wolstanton Marsh. Night-time was no problem because we moved the goal post (jumpers) adjacent to Dimsdale Parade and hey presto flood lights from road lighting.

Did anybody ever get a chemistry set for Christmas ? It seemed as though most kids got one, never wanted it in the first place, then couldn't work out what to do with it and it either got binned or shoved to the back of the cupboard.

A games compendium. Full of games but can only recall say Chess and Snakes and ladders however there was far more than that. Memory lapse . Kids of today haven’t got a clue the hardships we had to endure, there was frig all present wise for us, nowadays they have everything and want it all. I can remember passing my test and some knob got me a pair of PVVC driving gloves with the knuckles circled out, Alan Partridge esq, can you imagine pulling up out side your mates house having just passed your test in a 2.0 Ghia Capri donning a pair of driving gloves, they’d have battered me.

Backgammon and chequers were another two but struggling after that. Stretch Armstrong, what was the point? Neighbour had one. You stretched it until eventually, inevitably, the gloop came out. Which sounds wrong now I think about it...
