Being sent round to the corner shop with. 50p piece to buy some “dark and golden “ choc ices, mum having the faith in me and my brother to do so. And sneaking 10 cifgarettes off the shop guy and hiding them in basement of flats we lived in. And Star Wars cards. I could go on, but I’ve had a drink lol

Don't know if it's a kids thing or just a poor kids thing but wearing socks as gloves in the snow. And putting my feet in bread bags then my feet into my shoes/pumps to keep them dry in the snow also.

I was just about to post the same thing.... feet in bread bags so that our socks didn’t get wet through the holes in our wellies on the way to school. A great thread this; so many happy memories.
