He will be very exposed against mobile strikers with movement and pace.

Not going anywhere after tonight's display. I doubt it would take one game to change whoevers mind, They would have watched his motm performances from this season as well and there are plenty.

I’m still not convinced he’s ready for the PL. If that 20m is anywhere close to being true then we sell in January for sure. We can’t turn that down.

There’s not a single player in this side that shouldn’t be sold if there was a bid of £20m or more.

Does it mean Everton will back from their offer a quarter of a billion (in Swe Crowns)? 20M£ I think we will accept 16m +addons.(to around 20m). Think towards Jan after we can clearly see we are mid table and going nowhere it will be considered a decent offer. sadly i suspec you will be correct

Not even close. Hence my shock at some of the fees mentioned on here and then that one last night from an actual decent source. And this isn’t me not rating him. I think for what we need he’s excellent. But if I was a fan of a PL club I wouldn’t want Souttar.

The point is though that this was the first chance he had to show his credentials against a top quality forward and he came up short. He is a good Championship defender but not the finished article and would be torn to pieces if he went straight into a Premier League team. Would someone pay £20 million for a player they need to develop? In my opinion Collins is a far better prospect and only Burnley were interested in him at £12 million. Souttar has not been brilliant in every match for us and since the last international break has been partially at fault for several of the goals we have conceded. This is not a knee jerk reaction from me. I said earlier in the thread let him go if we get a good offer. He's not even the best defensive prospect we have at the club.

We won't. The only hope I have is to keep him until the end of the season.

He's shown it before no, did he play quite a bit in the cups last season or am I miss remembering? Not many are brilliant in every match, while I agree 20mil seems very strong, I'm not surprised there a few that are interested. Who's the best defencive prospect, I don't see much of the youth teams?

Who's the best defencive prospect, I don't see much of the youth teams? I think you are right that Harry played against Premier teams in the cup last season but most of them didn't play their first choice striker like Brentford did. We only have the media's word for how many are seriously interested in him. I remember in May it was all talk about Utd, West Ham and Palace I think all wanting Collins but when it came down to it only Burnley came up with the cash. Connor Taylor on loan at Bristol Rovers looks an excellent prospect who I think is only 18 but is getting rave reviews down there and has established himself as regular first choice. I don't watch much youth football but I watched some of the U23 streams last season, his first with us and he always stood out in. I have also heard it said that Will Forrester who made his debut last match of last season when he scored against Bournemouth is considered an even better prospect but I've never really noticed him.

I watched him vs Spain in the Olympics too and they had a strong side and he couldn’t cope. Thought Toney ran him ragged in the 55 minutes I saw. Against Villa it was Keinan Davis who is a donkey. And Wolves it was Fabio Silva who just looks massively unsuited to English football thus far.

Take the money and run if offered. He's a good Championship player but no way worth the money being touted. He's replaceable and the money could strengthen the many other areas of the pitch that need strengthening.

After his last couple of performances, it'll be easy to keep him as no one would want him. Don't know what's happened to the lad apart from his 2 colleagues have been even worse, which doesn't help.

First off Moore is a very good Championship striker. But Souttar looked flat footed and pensive from the very first minute.
I’d be tempted to move him to the left of the 3 for Blackpool and play Batth in the centre……

Today was the worst I've seen him play from first minute to last. However, I'm not about to start piling in with criticism for a player who has easily been our best player this season.

As I’ve been saying for the last two months he’s gone from being our most underrated to our most overrated player. People genuinely believe he’s worth 50m and it’s insane. He’s a good Championship defender who is probably starting to feel the affects of getting half way around the world every few months and barely having a decent break over summer too. People need to calm their shit with him, positively and negatively.

The calls for Danny Batth to come back in fill me with dread. I can't bear to watch him do his usual trick of falling over the ball while facing his own goal at least once per game. Would it be unfair to compare him with Shawcross circa 2007? As for the fees, I don't know how you calibrate it these days. The sums are exploding at a ludicrous rate. £20 million is probably the top end of par, just as £12 million for Collins was the very bottom end of par.

He’s learning lots still. As for Batth. I’d rather watch paint dry.
