So onto Preston on Tuesday then WBA Friday will be interesting to see if he changes much with fixtures coming thick and fast.
I’d go with
Davies
Wilmott Batth (I wouldnt risk Harry) Ostigard
Duhaney Thompson Sawyers Vrancic Doughty (I’d rest Tymon who looks tired)
Powell
Surridge
Not sure if it’s me but Preston never seems to be a happy hunting ground. I assume Allen’s still out as will be Sima and Harry. Too soon for Campbell too.

Assuming Souttar and Vrancic are injured and Allen and Sima haven’t recovered:
Davies
Smith Wilmot Batth Chester Doughty
Thompson Sawyers Powell
Brown Surridge

He has, and with Tymon not at his best the last couple of matches we’ve lost what was our main threat. Hopefully a fresh Smith and Doughty will add some bite back to the attack.

It’s great seeing wingbacks flying up the pitch. Makes a huge difference when they’re on song.

Tough game.
Preston are unbeaten in the last 6 (albeit the last 4 have been draws).
Could do with one win from the next two.

Assuming Souttar and Vrancic are injured and Allen and Sima haven’t recovered: Davies Smith Wilmot Batth Chester Doughty Thompson Sawyers Powell Brown Surridge Is there any suggestion Vrancic is injured? I thought the substitution yesterday was just to give him a slight breather and allow Powell to drop into midfield.

I thought the substitution yesterday was just to give him a slight breather and allow Powell to drop into midfield. He was feeling his calf at half time apparently. Three games in six days is a huge ask for him. With Sawyers unavailable against West Brom it would probably be a good time to rest Vrancic, especially if he’s carrying a knock.

I think he’s done well to play the amount of minutes he has recently and central midfield is a role we have a lot of strength in depth in.

I think Thompson needs some minutes on Tuesday as he could have a massive job on his hands on Friday night.

Davies
Smith Ostigard Wilmot Chester Doughty
Thompson Clucas Sawyers
Surridge Brown
Rest Souttar.
Vrancic and Powell on the bench.
Would be looking to start Fletcher and Sima if they’re fit against WBA. With Campbell on the bench.

I would be happy with a point, they usually take us apart up there.

I would be happy with a point, they usually take us apart up there. I’d be interested to know our recent record up there but it does seem from memory that a point would be a decent result. It’ll be interesting to see what this McCanns like. I wonder if they’ll rest any. Forgot about Sawyers not being able to play v WBA so he has to start. Bearing that in mind. I can see it being Davies Wilmott Batth Ostigard Thompson Smith Sawyers Clucas Doughty Powell Surridge

It’s certainly no Pride Park or St Andrews for us.

Our defence is pretty weak without Souttar, Wilmot scares the S#%t outta me with the thought of Chester playing doesn’t give you much hope. I think we’ll get a point from Preston but Nowt from the Baggies, hope I’m wrong.

1 win in the last 1 game, so not too shabby 4 points from 3 visits since relegation isn’t it? It’s certainly no Pride Park or St Andrews for us. It's not great, 2 wins and a draw in the last 10 visits, as you say though more recently we've had a couple of decent results. It's a big test for us irrespective of all that as Swansea aside we've not reached the levels we can on our travels yet this season, if we want to stay in the hunt for the play offs we've got to improve our away record.....

Fletcher is the best target man we have. Sima is still unknown but needs a chance. Really hope Campbell is on the bench for WBA though. I think we’ll need him.

Yes he can but what’s wrong with giving this lad another go, his attacking play didn’t stifle us one bit if you had noticed during the game he was hardly utilised, we opted for Tymon on the left and didn’t switch it enough to him even though he was free and when he did get the ball players were not quick enough to give him the options.

It’s an almost 6 pointer (not quite yet) but as close as it gets at this stage of the season. We need him on the bench with how Brown and Surridge have been playing.

Both full backs were crap going forward. The whole team was. He didn’t want to take any risks so wasn’t there to be an option. And when we did we had the sorts of incidents like when Brown could have played him in, didn’t and Duhaney stopped the run anyway. Both looked like reluctant footballers. Both scared of trying something. This bloke is a stop gap. Get Smith in and give ourselves the best chance of winning then he has a week off anyway.
