I’d offer Chopo Motting ,the Spanish wastrel Jese, I’m not sure Shaq would have been his cup of tea.

Wonder who the players were he didn't like? Interesting…..an insight into our downfall and ultimate relegation (although we all knew it).

I thought he was talking about the team that was successful, saying that he didn't necessarily like all the players but that they pulled together as a team which is more intriguing. Which players didn't he like in that team? I suspect Arnautovic wasn't his favourite and perhaps even Fuller with his well documented late appearances at training and arrivals back from internationals.

Yeah arnie was my first thought along with Tuncay and maybe pennant, whilst he says his behaviour etc was good doesn’t mean he liked him.

The link to the Sentinel page no longer works and I can no longer find the corresponding story on FaceBook. Odd.

I think he's just saying you don't have to like everyone in the dressing room as long has everyone has a shared understanding of what is required of them then it's a good dressing room.
Then, even if you bring in someone with a dodgy past like pennant, the dressing room will see him right and make sure he's on the same page.
That must have been a superb dressing room back in the day.

Don’t read too much into it, just like every other workplace there are people you like and people you like less. You still get on with your job

As I remember his obvious mates were Rory and Whelan and I think he once said he got on well with Huth off the pitch but apart from that no one knows who he didn't like. We have no idea what players are really like off the field so it could be anyone not just the players we see as bad eggs. I can't imagine for example that he had a lot in common with Lawrence off the field but they still seemed to enjoy playing together. There are always people you work well with but wouldn't socialise with.

Don’t see anything massively controversial there, like any workplace, you’re not going to get on famously with everyone you work with.

Inter are responsible for Ryan’s health and fitness, so stay put Ryan and take advantage of the private health care that you will receive in the States. A lot of the NFL players are treated for back surgery in Florida where they are pioneers in this field, and what a place and climate to recoup, get your back sorted captain and enjoy your early retirement.

Shawcross must be finished now. The last 4-5 years of his career have just been injury after injury and he has suffered with back problems for a long time.

At least we got him off the payroll at the right time! Great player for Stoke, but after the Leicester game where he broke his leg/ancle he was never going to be the same player again unfortunately.

Just been reading an article that says how it's highly likely Shawcross will be axed by Inter Miami at the end of this coming season due to ongoing injury issues & failing to impress stateside when he has played.
When you think about the injuries Ryan's picked up throughout his career, in particular his back issues & the fallout from the leg break you've got to expect Ryan's body will be shot to pieces & in need of a well earnt rest to try & prevent any reoccurrence in later life if not to late already.
Know this isn't how Ryan would of wanted his career to end but it does sadly seem likely that if he does get binned off by Miami that he may call it a day as I can't imagine his body would be able to withstand the pressures and battering he'd get playing lower league football back in the UK. I'm quite sure he's being paid handsomely by Miami so at least if he wasn't set up already from his time at Stoke he will be now. & lets face it, Florida isn't a bad place to recover from your latest injury from is it.
But wonder what the future holds in store beyond this season in the US for Ryan. Not sure If coaching or management's his thing or if he's even started on his coaching badges.
Still think some kind of close season testimonial game would be appropriate for Ryan & at least gives us the fans the opportunity to give him a proper send off as it would be a shame after such loyal & dedicated service to SCFC he just faded away into the football abyss.

It'll be a sad day for me when Ryan knocks it on the head, but we're definitely near. He was never the same after that back injury, was it Leicester at home? I seem to remember it being so innocuous, just landed very heavily on his standing leg which must have just jarred something.

Sadly a few of us predicted this a while back. Was hoping he would have a couple of seasons in the sun.
