No way. I thought shooting from outside the box was outlawed in modern football? I believe he wanted to follow in the footsteps of his hero and inspiration Darrell Russell in playing for both clubs...... As long as its not Keith Scott...

I'd be happier with this deal if it was concluded after securing/extending Powell's contract. As it is, it makes little sense and rather short-sighted. .. maybe a Powell replacement? A 32yo for a 27yo. My post still stands.

32, and not a regular last season in the same division. Please excuse me not getting over excited. Not a regular? He’s in the Top 11 for minutes on the pitch by Norwich players in the Championship last season! We’ve got ourselves an absolutely top notch No 10. The problem is, we already have one!

Next time we are looking for a manager, the club should look to the Oatcake pages. Plenty of experts on here.

.. maybe a Powell replacement? A 32yo for a 27yo. My post still stands. The club should not let it's transfer dealings be dictated by another players contract. If Powell wants out why should we want to keep him and if he isn't happy with having competition for his place his attitude stinks and we should get rid. We've got grafters (although a beast of a DM would be good) so what exactly is wrong with having 2 creative midfielders in the squad or even in the same team? Very happy with this signing - far higher quality to what I was expecting to be honest.

Good signing for me, it doesn’t matter that we’ve already got a good no 10 in Powell, I felt we really struggled creatively if Powell was injured or not playing his best so we need someone like Vrancic.

As long as its not Keith Scott... I'd take Neil Adams but not John Devine who both played for both clubs. I thought Devine did ok for us as a steady pro. Wasn’t it Eric Young who badly broke his leg with a nasty challenge leaving Devine with one leg three quarters of an inch shorter than the other and forcing him to retire?

I haven’t suggested anything other than I believe Powell's contract would have been a higher priority IMO.

Our first team on paper is imo good.
The bench is lacking.
In Campbell, Powell, Doughty and Fletcher we have 4 players who all need rotating to maintain fitness and to keep their injury risk lower.
Signing a player like Vrancic allows us to do that and not lose quality.
Everything rests on MON doing that and not overusing him and the rest of them.

Is it me, or does he look like he’s just realised he’s trod in some dog shit? Have to say, he’s quite a good looking chap. Very well groomed and doesn’t look 32.😘

There's a midfielder called Luigi Giorgi playing in Serie D. Come on Michael, you know you want to.

Do you actually think by signing Vrancic it has in any way prevented or delayed Powell signing his contract and if it has how and why exactly? The club doesn't have to deal with one thing at a time - if Powell wants to sign a new contract the Vrancic signing hasn't stopped him doing it.

Sounds as if Aldridge's role is much like a DOF and works closely with MON. Lots of encouragement in the early weeks of the window.

The problem is, we already have one! 19 starts though. By all accounts, he had an up-and-down 20/21 with Norwich. His season is book-ended by not figuring in the team much at all, yet from December to March he started 17 out of 21 games and made 5 assists and scored 1 goal. Even coming off the bench in the earlier part of the season, he scored 2 more goals. Quite strange how he ended back on the bench, as in his last game of that purple patch he made an assist against Brentford who were in 2nd place at the time.

Good deal all round. Someone who can score from free kicks. Row J can relax now and no need to clutch your Bovril so tightly when we get one. To be honest if he can keep the ball inside the touchline’s he’ll become a bit of a cult hero
