Let's face it, objectively, it's a coin-toss game - maybe England with a slight edge due to home advantage It's only our historical hang-ups that have led to this current inferiority complex sports.bwin.de/de/sports/events/england-deutschland-in-london-11745165?tab=scoreWe're even favourites with the German bookies! Eng 8/5 Ger 7/4 Draw 21/10 To win the trophy: Fra 15/4 Ita 11/2 Eng 6 Ger 13/2 Spa 8 Hol 9 Bel 9 Por 12 Den 18 Those odds for Spain, Holland, Belgium and Portugal seem a bit generous. Surely they're as likely (more likely?) to win the thing as England or Germany?

Surely they're as likely (more likely?) to win the thing as England or Germany? Think it's to do with the lopsided halves of the draw, with England finding themselves in by far the easier section and having all but the QF potentially at home Could be Belgium or Portugal v Italy and Spain v France in the quarters, whereas the England/Germany winners would have Sweden/Ukraine, then probably Holland/Denmark.

He did struggle to put coins in the vending machine to be honest. How stupid they looked after this....well pretty much every day to be honest

Well if they carry on fannying around at the back along the lines of, Pickford to Stones to Maguire to Stones to Shaw to Stones to Maguire to Walker to Pickford to Maguire to Stones to Shaw to Stones to Maguire to Walker to Maguire to Pickford , we'll get picked off right away. THats just inviting unecassary pressure. None of our back 4 look comfortable on the ball or getting their head up and making a telling through pass for either Gralish or Foden to spin off of and play a first time pass. If we can get Grealish and that Saka youth , or Sancho running at them, THEN we have some sort of threat. This is Southgates 'redemption' moment right here...... going to have to disagree with the suggestion that 'none of our back 4 look comfortable on the ball' > the exact opposite is the case (unless Mings is playing) not playing the positive pass (quickly) is a different matter, they are capable of it & do it for their clubs regular & have done it for England before- last time out Shaw was very positive (Walker still too negative) whilst both Maguire &b Stones drove forward (second half anyway) with the ball the extra cautiousness we've seen so far isn't set in stone, would expect the management to instruct the team to get the ball quicker to the forwards for this game, don't doubt it what happens later when we play France, Belgium, Italy or even Holland is another matter would anticipate the caution to come right back in Yeah well it will all come out in the wash.......it just seems to me that whenever any of the back 4 get the ball its a case of "fuck that you have it", "no I dont want it, you have it", "no fuck off I aint havin it - there you go"", "shiiiit there you go "...... they just seem so nervous to me. I agree that the manager will instill a bit of "dare to be brave" attitude and positive thinking in the lead up and the day of the game. ( You wtach now, we'll go and wallop them 5-1 like we did in 2001 and Stones will bag a brace)

far from the best German side but still capable of going a long way. Quite a few claimed the Scotland game would be easy, one lunatic went as far as saying would be a bye. Knockout football a different game all together but England not exactly the best at it. Who were the last top side England beat at the knockout stages of a tournament? Probably the nearest Germany and England have been in terms of ability but Germany have a coach who has done it before, England have Southgate. Dn't agree is an easy route to the finals, Denmark and Netherlands both shown serious attacking quality so far although not as strong as the other half of the draw. i expect another tight game with Kane isolated and 1 goal in it.

Pace will be key against the Germans Sancho and Sterling this time out wide the way to go I think and maybe a “false” 9👀

Would be typical to beat Germany then get knocked out in the QF to Sweden/Ukraine!
Seriously, if they can beat Germany they will never have a better opportunity of getting to a final

God almighty- anybody would think Germany are actually good! They are absolutely garbage- I know what our “supporters” would be saying if we were hanging our hopes on a team that included a 500 year old Hummel, the 200 year old Kroos and Mueller! We are playing them at home with potentially no one of note to play until the Final. Get some spirit in you, you lilly livered, woke supporting bunch of Nancy’s!🥸 Surely he can’t call us Nancy’s anymore can he?

Fair point, he was good the other day. Sancho perhaps with a little more guile but I certainly wouldn’t be against Saka playing, got great drive and energy.

Saka looked impressive v CR and deserves to start. The only one with any creativity. England have scored twice and to be fair they haven't looked like scoring any more. We've seen what Germany can do in one game despite not being their greatest team,. Tough one to call.

Grealish was creative, and we have hit the post 3 times with very good chances, so those two statements are off the mark. Yes we have been well below our best, but your constant down putting of our national side is really tiresome mate. I'm not too sure exactly what it is that you don't like about the English football team but you come across like you have a real dislike for us for some reason.

What are your stats against the germans?

The team's had a lot of flak from the three performances to date but, recalling past tournements, is there much correlation between how a team performs early doors and its ability to step up when we get to the knock outs? We've got a chance. Let's enjoy the ride.

I'm pessimistic about the game. The main reason - Southgate. He'll set up, and pick the team to overly defend. When we are losing by one or two goals, he'll change the set-up and players, but it will be too late. I hope I'm wrong.

One of my worries is Kane is still massively off the pace, can't carry passengers in a game like this...
