He’s a good player but what a mental fee. 20m pound player at most. He'll definitely make them worse.

If there wasn't a home grown/ England tax how much do you reckon he'd have gone for?
Caicedo from Brighton for £35m seems a steal in comparison

With the way Arsenal play, having a solid holding player will make a massive difference. Partey, Xhaka & Jorginho shared the DM spot last season and Rice is better than all 3.

Up till now, I think the price of CDMs are undervalued anyway, as they are arguably the most important position on the field.

Transfer fees shouldn't exceed 50m, which would be reflected in shirts being 30 quid or less, tickets being 20 quid or less, etc. Everything football related is going up in price....for the fans, to pay these extortionate wages and transfer fees.

In this age of extortionate transfers I’d place Rice at around 40-50 million. The figures make me sick but having looked at other players I’d say that’s around the price. Fair play to him he’s an excellent player and hopefully for the good of our national team he’ll flourish

Our of interest how much do you think Mbappe will go for Going to be way over £200m A player is worth what people will pay I agree Rice is overpriced because he's an England mainstay but if you suggest someone around the same ability who you can get for £20m love to see it Liverpool are spending £60m on Hungary midfielder from Leipzig Chelsea spent £100m on Argentina midfielder who had a good World Cup but has done very little else whose name I can't remember Your idea of what you can sign players for is several years/decade behind whare the market is Could argue that no player is worth a penny but it's not reflecting reality

This is just instinct I suppose but I can’t really see Rice fitting in with Arteta’s Arsenal.. I bet he doesn’t end up being much of an upgrade on Xhaka for them

I think the days of players being worth their transfer fee are long long gone so it’s pointless even debating how much a player should cost. A player is worth what a club will pay for him and clubs are happy to chuck the mega bucks about.
