I know we all love a moan on here and the fans always know better than the manager, but literally MILLIONS of supporters could see that setup and dynamic was all wrong, yet he doesn’t try and change it once throughout the whole 90 minutes? That Scotland side is probably better than most they’ve had for the last 20 years but it’s certainly one you have to be beating at Wembley with virtually zero pressure on you.
Where we go from here, God only knows. He’ll start two defensive midfielders and Kane next game, you just know it. For the record Kane has obviously been superb for years for England but he needs dropping on the basis of the last two performances. Otherwise he never will be.
I’ve gone from being quite optimistic about doing something, to thinking we’ll do well to make it past the last 16. Woeful.

I can’t believe people still get duped into thinking we are anywhere near winning a tournament that actually means anything. We will scrape our way through the group stage as normal, then as soon as we play one of the big tournament nations, they will put us in our place. It’s the way it’s been in all of my forty odd years of watching England. Euro 96 was the only time we actually played like a force to be reckoned with. Every other tournament has been the usual mix of grinding out results, hard luck stories & not being good enough when it comes to the crunch matches. I realised we will win nowt in my lifetime some years back. Sorry boys & gals, wake up & smell the coffee. Even Euro 96 we only really played well in two and half games. If memory serves me, i think we were lucky to beat Spain on pens after they had a wrongly off side goal ruled out.

I’ve had a free £5 bet from Denise and put it on a 0-0. Can see the Scots frustrating us. Hate to say I told you so but…. Bastard!

The time for the dream I’ve been having of a Harry Kaneless England for the last year has to come. Sancho and Bellingham need to come in. You've been 'dreaming' of a Harry Kaneless England for a year? Have you talked to anyone about it, family or friends? Maybe you should get medical advice. To be fair to Bayern (who usually spouts shits) seeing Kane line up for England drains the fucking life out of you. Him and Sterling are choking us.

I called this after Croatia, I said to the lad that the Jocks would come at us gung ho, played with no heat in a typical English climate they would raise their game tenfold. The question always was how do England react. We have our answer, caught like a rabbit in the headlights, not helped by under performing seasoned pros who are badly out of form ( Kane Sterling ), scaredy cat Safety Sam tactics ( two holding midfielders ) subbing off for the second game running your most creative player (Foden). One of our midfielders needs to play the Hudson role, pick the ball up from the back and nurse it through, there was a huge hole in there tonight. Shaw for me was wrong, Chilwell offers far more if you have to play a back four, Walker over James, pleased to see Mings hold his place, bar one error when he slipped he had another good game. Two years ago this team was playing with no fear and scoring for fun, we have now struggled to beat Austria Romania Croatia and Scotland. We have attacking players other teams would be gagging to have, Southgate has to find the right balance, but most of all show some balls and take games by the scruff of the neck and go for it. Fortune favours the brave.

Scotland play Croatia before we play Czech. So, if the Scots or Croatia win their game by 2 or more goals, then England will be out if we lose to Czech. Which will make us even more defensive-minded than ever. I can see Czech beating us, in which case our fate will rest on the earlier game. Of course, if Czech beat us by more than one, that opens the door still further. So Southgate has got to hope that the Scotland-Croatia game ends in a tie. We are clearly not through yet. Southgate won't survive if we don't make it out of the group stages. Who next for England manager? The FA stated a few weeks ago, whatever happens in this tournament, Southgate will be the manager of England in Qatar 2022 World Cup (assuming we qualify).

I’m sorry, but Southgate is not the man to take this team forward. Even with the players we have we look miles behind everyone else. Absolutely clueless.
Italy, Belgium, France and Holland would have easily put that game to bed.
Dreadful.

All right it wasn’t very good, but bloody hell this feels like a 0-0 draw against the Vale.
England always do this in the group stages. We’ll scrape through until we play a good team and then lose comfortably, don’t worry folks.

Tactics all wrong. Should’ve been a flat, tight back 4, pumping a long ball up to Calvert-Lewin and seeing what apples drop for us Nige.

Southgate won't survive if we don't make it out of the group stages. Who next for England manager? Southgate will survive, 100% because we have come a long way since he took over even though we have been gash tonight. Who could we realistically see take over from Southgate? The only two options are and in order, Eddie Howe and Brendon Rodgers If Rodgers was realistic and willing I'd get him in now, a much better manager than Southgate.

I agree with both of you. We played poorly and were very lucky against Spain. The 2 1/2 games we were good in Euro 96 were second half v Scotland and the games against the Netherlands and Germany.

No chance . What a ridiculous thing to say. How does supporting feeding children, driving for equality and being inclusive a bad thing or affect the way they play football. If anything I am more proud of this team because of the work they do off the pitch. They are a quality bunch of players and we should get behind them. The manager just got it wrong yesterday . We move on
