Yeah doesn’t inspire much confidence if we do sign him.
Bargain bucket stuff.

When you see his record characterised in this way, not much to hang your hat on, is there? Especially given he'll be on a very good wage, signed as a free transfer last summer. The way I see it is similar to when Wilder took McGoldrick and Leon Clarke to Sheffield United. Similar age, similar style and similar profile. He won't come in and bang in 20 a season but should be more use to us than Gregory and Vokes. In FFP land I'm not sure what more you can ask, when Tyrese and Norton have the younger side of the attack stitched up?

I liked him when he was at Charlton. He looked lively, and I thought he was much younger than 31 tbh.
Despite his goal return which has been pointed out in other posts, I still think he'd be a useful freebie if the wage packet is right, and we can move on Gregory or Vokes. He's certainly more mobile than both of those which is a good start. He also had a long term injury in his last season at Charlton, and perhaps he needs a good run of starts to build his sharpness and confidence. He only had 15 starts last season, which suggests he was in and out of the team in short spells.
This is where we're at now, we can't afford to compete with the big boys, or even the teams towards the top of this league at the moment. If anything, it reassures me that we can't go and pi$$ millions more up the wall on someone else.

Suppose everything's got to be judged in the light of the financial position. But rumoured signings like this would suggest the FFP boot is being pressed firmly into our faces. Sounds like it's going to be a massively depressed market in terms of fees and wages for the whole league. Can't help but feel underwhelmed though It's just making the same mistakes. The financial position makes it even worse.

Why oh why Stoke?
I prefer to give a youngster like Norton a chance next season.
He will be the next Jacob Brown. Dont we ever learn?

Seems exactly what we don't need. 31 and coming in off a bad season. Great. Yeah , strange one , old and scored 1 in 10 🤦♂️

Christ, if Lyle Taylor is the answer, I don't know what the question is! Which footballer sounds like a sugar manufacturer? Archie McSilverspoon. Plays for Hibs.

I thought MON had an age range in mind for our signings this summer, pretty sure it wasn't 31.......

Agree, he looked useful at Charlton but I was surprised at his age, 31, always thought he was younger. He was once.

Look at his stats he’s absolutely crap, I wouldn’t trust MON with anymore cash after his last signing. It’s Brown all over again

As someone else has said I thought he was much younger! Liked him for Charlton and also looked fairly useful against us for Forest last season when he was on the pitch. Regardless of it being basement bucket stuff if somebody said straight swop deal for Vokes I'd bite their hand off- much more mobile and a nuisance to defenders and would be an adequate foil/stand in for Fletcher depending on system.

And plays in a different position. Apart from that it’s a cracking comparison. What we are doing here is signing another Lee Gregory.

He's already had 15 clubs and when we beat Charlton 3-1 in February last year he was the laziest player on the pitch.
Total show-pony and didn't he "refuse" to play again when the season resumed last year, citing not wanting to get injured and jeopardise a "big summer move" ?

It’s difficult to see him setting the place alight but it’s the level we’re at nowadays with the club finances.

Different player to Gregory but agree with the Brown nonsense. Would happily see Vokes and Gregory off the books and Taylor and another in.
