I would have him back tomorrow, especially as he knows where the mistakes were made.

If he´s matured, learned some lessons, I´d have him back once we go up. But right now we need someone like TP to build a motivated and fit team. <tinhat smiley>

His understanding of the demise is fair enough where it went wrong and seems to hold no grudges

Chatted to him about a year plus ago in Mcr airport bar and he was generally pleased that a Stoke fan liked him, said so himself. He actually said he thought we all disliked him. Smashing fella and he mentioned Werner and Lacazette who he thought were the final pieces and the ones who got away. Was apologetic for the end of his time with us.
Edit He did mention a foreign International defensive midfielder we were after but can't remember who. I was tucking into the free drink. Sure he was Dutch or Belgian. Wasn't Witsel

Some of THE best football I've EVER seen Stoke play was under Hughes but he went stale and lost it, the board should have let him go at least half a season earlier or hung onto him until the end of the season but the indecision cost us, I think we would have stayed up with Hughes in charge - then we could have started afresh at the start of the following season. I've no bitterness towards him and so thankful for entertaining me for 4 years just a shame his last season was a failure. Gouranga.

I have no animosity towards him. At times, we did play some lovely football but I wouldn't take him back now and he couldn't pick a striker to save his life.

Arni wasnt too bad Imagine Lacazette up top. I think he was quite new in the Lyon team at the time but 2 or 3 years later went for 50 million plus. Oh well

Hindsight is a wonderful thing.
He did have us dreaming about better times with Stoke and I like the guy for his ambition to take Stoke to the next level.

8 games in if MON is struggling I'd consider him even now!
Some the best players, best play I've ever seen in a Stoke shirt
I don't care how long he's been out of work I think he'd do a good job

Personally I have no grudges at all towards Mark. I saw some unbelievable football at times and after years of Tony Pulis it was refreshing. I also think Mark’s status within the game also lifted our profile as well.
Ultimately I think a culture of complacency set in within the club from the top down and even in the stands as well, that level of urgency dropped but the size of club we are it didn’t take long for it to unravel and sadly lead to our relegation.

Red Adair must have a bloody good agent to be fair. Still got the market cornered on firefighting analogies despite being dead for 17 years.

That article is almost twelve months old. Seriously, what's the point? I hadn't read it before and enjoyed reading it. On the whole he was a very good manager for us and deserves some respect for the 9th place finishes and quality of football he provided us with.

A big criteria in being a great manager is to leave the club in a better state than you found it and sadly Hughes didn’t do that. Even worse he left a legacy that has contributed to our problems ever since. It’s not an original thought but he sullied his reputation badly in the last season / season and a half which was a shame.
