Perhaps unusually for Stoke the departure of players from the Club during this close season is at least as important or more probably critical than the subsidiary questions of any acquisitions. As everyone is aware we are, or should be, making strenuous efforts behind the scenes, to offload surplus players and bring down the wage bill and the size of the squad.
I, for one, will be anxiously looking for news of departures from the Club, and would find it very helpful to have an easily accessed point of reference, recording any significant moves in this direction.
So far we seem to be free of N'Diaye, and Wimmer has also gone. Cousins, perhaps surprisingly, has been released, or at least is out of contract. Well at least its a start, but more of the same is expected.

Saving that squad list must cause people some storage or disc space problems if they haven't got cloud access!

Its frightening how many players we have and absolutely no surprise that we are in the position we are with regards FFP
Still, nothing wring with the process 🤔

I think it could be somewhat easier this season to rid ourselves of players, because a year from now, they - apart from Etebo and maybe others will be in the last year of their contracts. That means if another employer hasn't come in for them by the time the transfer window ends, they will be in a big black empty hole a year from now, with no money coming in and no one to play for. They/agents will then have to find potential employers themselves with no recent videos to show what they can do. They will have to reduce their wages demands considerably and any other extras they might have had can be equally forgotten. Their reputations may well be in shatters, because of what they have or rather have not done at Stoke, although there so far has been one or the other desperate boss willing to take a risk on them.
So while it's probably unlikely that we lose everyone of the unwanted players, there is at least a bigger chance this year that some will see sense on their own behalf and move on.

Dont know the ins and outs of it but when you are posting 80m losses with a wagebill like ours it doesnt look too clever

Each time I look at that list I look at another player who makes me wince. This time it's Ince.

There are another 7 we know will be gone out of that list; BMI, Lindsey, Bauer, Woods, Etebo, Afobe, Sorensen (another development loan) Then there are another 6 we would really like to be out the building for FFP reasons and other reasons; Ince, McClean, Vokes, Clucas, Allen, Gregory
13 players we need to shift

Its happened before!

So Liam Lindsay is now an official departure from our happily shrinking squad.
A pity he wasn't Alec Lindsey.

I was going to put him at first but he isn’t really anything saved because he was going anyway True - but it is still a reduction on the wage bill which helps FFP. Put it this way, if we had 10 players who were out of contract this summer instead of just the one, we'd be almost out of the woods on FFP - providing, of course, that the majority of them were not regular starters last season.
