One of my favourite songs from the 70s. This always gets them going. At the risk of upsetting every nun and housewife in Ireland, that is bloody atrocious

To be fair a raucous crowd there You're tight they dig him. If my Mum heard me diss DO'D I would be sent to bed with no tinned Ravioli

Better than the original? I think so. So Californian. Here’s the original - featuring a special cameo from Danny DeVito - plus an ultra-cute chimpanzee.

jesusmcmuffin Not sure that's better than the original (both are good - I just checked the original out too), but that's great footage! Crossing genres, I think this is a stunning cover of Don't Fear the Reaper: Slowdive do an epic cover of Syd Barrett's Golden Hair: Fade Into You by Mazzy Star is pretty much a perfect song, but what a job this guy does: I prefer Shirley Bassey's version of Light My Fire: I love Rainbow's Still I'm Sad: And if anyone played Donkey Kong Country 2 on the Super Nintendo, what a version of Stickerbush Symphony this is: I think The Fugees version of Killing Me Softly beats Roberta Flack's too.

Better than might be a stretch but I love this. Love to see music taken from one genre and covered in a completely different way.
Metallica aren't really my thing but I love this.

Not necessarily better but just as good. Done to help out Frankie Miller.
The Tim Curry version is interesting too.

Avail yourself of this if you haven't already. Bear with it, it's properly flipped on its head as a reworking.

Slightly different but not worth its own thread I don’t think. Same songs you like as much as each other. For me, two that stand out are Girls Talk,Nick Lowe and Elvis C and Our Lips are sealed by The fun Boy3 and The GoGos. I hated the FB3 Terry Hall co wrote it with Jane Wieldin was it, forget which one ?
