It’s backward looking at a time when we need to be forward looking. He isn’t going to identify the kind of players Brentford do or Norwich do is he? Young players, bargains in non-domestic bargains etc? I don't care where they come from as long as they're hard as nails, run through brickwalls and are professional, the aim is to get back to the top flight and Pulis knows the types of players required to do it. Home based bargains is his forte. Add that to this crop of youth and we are surely onto a winner. I don't trust this incompetent board would find a better option to what I believe is a very good one For balance Tony Pulis has less Premier League promotions to his name than Daniel Farke (who has managed for a fraction of the time in this country) and Scott Parker! This myth that he's some sort of promotion guarantee is exactly that, a myth.

Come on that's no excuse, we have a good selection of younger players, when the going gets tough at the top it's the experienced that see you through, both in the dressing room and on the pitch. When you look at those players I mentioned above, I think we'll see that a very good number of these players we picked up for peanuts were far from over the hill at the time of signing them Is it? Which teams and players specifically do you mean? What I mean is one model isn't nessasarily the only solution. My point is we allready have a decent selection of youth, we're far from a old folks home Sunday league team, O'Neil has reduced the age of the squad a lot with a lot more of the experienced leaving in the next 12 months. A good dollop of pulis players is what's needed imo, again, to compliment our youth and replace the old timers

Stoke are just plodding along in no particular direction, if you don't know what you are trying to achieve then how are you going to achieve it.
Pulis knows the route, he's been there and done it, so what if it was 2008, he's done it and then went on to establish a club in the top flight which is our aim exactly.
If you're climbing everest go with someone who has done it

Not necessarily, he has a major input though in vision and transfer scoutings and dealings but obviously he has to accommodate the youth set up which has started to bare fruits, even so, there's no evidence or history to suggest this isn't more than a flash in the pan

Tony Pulis has never accomodated anything he didn't want! This is the man who wanted to dissolve the academy so he could have more money for 'Front of House' This is not the time go bring that bloody dinosaur back here, it would be an unmitigated disaster.

I don't care what they are called tbh, we need somebody with the experience and clear vision of how to take us to the next level aswell as a record of identifying players that make a football club successful. Pulis is qualified at both. It's more than evident by now upstairs are way out of their depth. We have the potential to bring in somebody who knows the route, do it.

TP's style of football obviously split the fan base. His record of recruitment (relative to cost) though, particularly 2006-11, was first class. Now in his 60s, the DoF role might just suit him. I'm sure it will but he won't be offered it. It's 2021 for God's sake. He strikes me as a control freak that wants to make all the decisions. I also believe Cartwright’s contributions were greatly underestimated. Recruiting has been appalling since he left.

Maybe all the experts on here will begin to understand the shitty job our manager has on his hands, and it’s not getting easier any time soon. He said in an interview recently that he knew exactly what he was getting into, and felt his time in international management would stand him in good stead - not being able to sign/sell players etcetera. To take on such a huge job is to his credit I reckon. We need to get behind our boys this season. It’s going to be a slog. He made the job much harder than he needed to and made us worse to watch from his first season for no good reason. This is no excuse for shit football. He’s lucky he has a job. Ah… The biggest expert of them all! The fact that he kept us up was a minor miracle in itself. Last season was going fine considering he had a training ground half full of poisonous, money grabbing mercenaries who didn’t want anything to do with our club. The football was attritional at times, but we were a penalty kick away from going to the top of the league. Since then the injuries have been never ending. You can say he’s signed plenty of players, but he’s had to bodge his way through with free transfers & what is in today’s world, small fees for players who, although have potential, are pretty rough around the edges. He’s been given no real money to spend, whilst constantly giving our young players the chance to show their worth. Whilst the second half of the season has been a long, hard slog and goals for have been at a premium, we at least have some fight & no longer get rolled over on a regular basis. He has steadied the ship during extremely choppy waters & in the long run we will only continue to progress with this manager.

Like who? Pulis offers more than good recruitment, he offers a wealth of experience & knowledge at getting promoted and establishing a club. Best man for the job by ten Country miles. Not doing it is ripping your nose off to spite your face if you're John Coates. More of the last 5 years and the fans are going to turn, on them
